William Shatner and his daughter Melanie have been cancer-free since late 2024, but before that, they both fought stage 4 at the same time. Melanie was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in July of 2022, and 11 months later in June of 2023, Shatner was diagnosed with stage 4 malignant melanoma on his cheek that spread to his lungs and brain. In a joint interview for “People” magazine, Melanie said, quote, “I remember vividly thinking, ‘I don’t have the strength to take care of myself and lose my father at the same time.'” She also added that during her treatment, Shatner gave her, quote, “a ‘daddy bear hug’.  He said, ‘This is going to be a blip in your life.  You’re going to get through this, and it’ll be a memory.'” He also didn’t want her to worry about finances, so he had her send him her medical bills.  But when her treatment went on longer than a year, he joked, quote, “You’ve got to get well.  We’re going to be in the poorhouse!” Shatner says his family remains close.  “We’re bonded by all kinds of difficulties that we’ve overcome.” He also finds gratitude in everyday things, like hummingbirds, playing with his dog, and his kids.  Quote, “I’m aware of the magic of it all.” Shatner and Melanie are launching a new weekly podcast next Wednesday called “No Time but Now”.  They’ll be interviewing health experts and other cancer survivors. “The Odyssey” is shaping up to be a box office hit, and currently has a 97% audience approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes. But Elon Musk is still griping about it.  He says, quote, “Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of ‘The Odyssey’ that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer.” If that were to fail, he also agreed with a fan’s suggestion to give Mel Gibson $100 million to make an accurate adaptation. Director Christopher Nolan previously compared the use of A.I. to a Trojan horse.  Quote, “I think AI is a Trojan horse that everybody knows the Greeks are inside.  It’s a transparent horse, it’s made of glass. “Everybody can see what’s going on inside of there . . . It’s actually pretty encouraging to see young people in particular being so suspicious of it.” In other “Odyssey” news, John Leguizamo said he wasn’t able to see for 12 to 14 hours a day onset because of the contact lenses he had to wear.  He had to be escorted to and from the bathroom and to eat.

“Scary Movie 6” is now available on digital, and Ghostface is celebrating with free “spicy content” on an OnlyFans page.  Carmen Electra even assisted with directing a teaser video. The profile also says there will be daily surprises, spicy content, and not-safe-for-work goodies. Fans can also expect surprise collaborations with other members of the cast.

Jason Aldean tells People magazine why he and his wife have two kids that don’t have a very big age gap. “I would much rather knock it out now while we’re used to having one in diapers and formula and all of that, I think it’s tougher when you get out of that [stage] and wait a couple years and then have to go redo it all…we just wanted them to be close in age, and we figured we’re already in that mindset now, so why not?”

Radar Online says Bunnie XO has been receiving messages from single men in prison. One in particular wrote to her and said, “Hey pretty lady, I’m about to get out of prison on a 10-year bid next year. Please let me go out and have a time with you. That’s all I  ask. Holler Country says Tim McGraw recently announced that he will give a pawn shop guitar to a young fan at each stop on his 2026 Pawn Shop Guitar Tour. The idea honors his past when he pawned his high school ring to buy his first guitar. His team will buy guitars from pawn shops in the cities they visit. McGraw says, “Because of the story behind my Pawn Shop Guitar, in every city that we play in, we decided to go to a pawn shop and get a guitar,” and “And this little young lady who’s right here is going to be the first one to get it.”

Megan Moroney tells Country Now that Dolly Parton inspired her bold stage style. “I mean, I just love that she’s always 100% herself and she’s definitely a more is more kind of girl. And  I feel like as far as my stage looks go, that’s how I kind of look at things too. And she doesn’t care if you don’t like it. And that’s also how I feel.”

Morgan Wallen’s “Still the Problem” tour is on track to make more than $500 million in gross revenue from its 23-show run.  If those numbers hold, it will set a new record as the highest-grossing country tour of all time.  And it would be the only country tour ever to cross the half-billion-dollar mark.

Collider says a Days Of Thunder sequel is in development with Tom Cruise returning. Cruise will also produce with Jerry Bruckheimer.  No word yet on a release date.  Fans are pushing for a crossover movie that would incorporate Brad Pitt’s Sonny Hayes character from his racing movie “F1”. Tom’s ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, starred in the original 1990 ‘’Days of Thunder’’ film

American Songwriter says a Manchester, England couple bought concert tickets from ‘Luke Combs’. Luke turned out to be an impersonator.  Catherine Tyldesley says she and her husband were shocked when the impersonator took the stage.  The real Luke Combs invited them to a meet-and-greet and gave them backstage passes.

Conan O’Brien explained that a severely sunburned scalp has forced him to swap his iconic pompadour for a slicked-back look. “So this morning, I rubbed oil into it. Then I come in, and I look like I’m in Sha Na Na. I’m a grease ball.” (You can watch the video here.)

The NY Post says Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, recently snapped at a fan while he was golfing at a US Junior Amateur event. The fan took a picture just as Charlie was swinging.  It ruined his shot and eliminated him from the tournament. The moment happened on the first playoff hole. Woods is currently #1,841 in the amateur rankings

Naughty But Nice says Blake Lively’s VIP perks have allegedly shrunk without Taylor Swift’s friendship. A source says, “Blake is absolutely still getting invited. But without Taylor, she’s no longer automatically getting the best seats, the most exclusive lounges, or the kind of VIP treatment that came with being part of Taylor’s inner circle. TMZ says Denise Richards’ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, wants her held in contempt of court for unpaid spousal support. Aaron says Denise owes him $13,500. She owes his lawyers $28,000. A hearing is set for September 14th to address the matter.

TMSPN says Tom Brady is allegedly in talks with the WWE for a match with Logan Paul.  Brady slapped Paul at Fanatics Fest last weekend. The WWE has not announced anything and Brady has not confirmed talks.  Brady did say, “I could handle at least one match,” and he joked about waiting for the right storyline.

Page Six says William Shatner and his daughter Melanie recently revealed they battled stage 4 cancer.  Melanie learned she had stage 4 breast cancer in 2022 after finding a lump.  William learned he had stage 4 melanoma in his lungs and brain.  Both are now cancer free following chemo, therapy and various surgeries
