Update on Burger King Grad: Over $190K Raised for College, Plus Surprise Scholarships from BK Foundation
Last week we told you about a high school graduate, named Mykale Baker, who returned to work at a Burger King, in Dacula, Georgia, immediately after his graduation ceremony. He was wearing his grad garb and medals while bagging orders in the drive-thru. Inspired by his dedication, a customer, named Maria Mendoza, started a fundraiser for Baker. She raised over $180,000 to support his college expenses. Mykale’s commitment to helping his co-workers even when he wasn’t scheduled impressed Maria. She hopes his story will inspire others to recognize hardworking and kind individuals

Over $180,000 has been raised for Baker’s college expenses. Burger King and the Burger King Foundation surprised him with a $10,000 scholarship, while also awarding the generous customer’s daughter with a $10,000 scholarship for her studies in neuroscience.
