Tony Romo pleaded no contest to drunk driving yesterday, and lost his license for six months.  He also has to complete an alcohol assessment program, and when he gets his license back, he’ll have to put one of those ignition interlock devices on any car registered to him. More importantly, Romo admitted that he has a problem.  In an Instagram post, he said that multiple back surgeries not only ended his football career early, but also left him dependent on painkillers. In an effort to kick that habit, he became over-reliant on alcohol. He added, quote, “As I have taught my three young sons: when you fall short, you stand up and take full responsibility.  That is an important first step.

As the entire universe knows, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have a dog.  She’s a fluffy white Samoyed named Wendy . . . and she just made her modeling debut. Wendy appears with Travis in Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 2026 ad campaign. As for why the dog is named Wendy, it hasn’t been confirmed, but there are two theories in play.  First off, Wendy is the female lead in “Peter Pan”.  Taylor is a huge fan of the story, and she has referenced it more than once in her lyrics. Then there’s Wendy Peffercorn, the girl played by Marley Shelton in the 1993 classic “The Sandlot”.  Wendy was one of Travis’ childhood crushes.

It’s been over four decades since Kevin Bacon starred in “Footloose”, but he STILL doesn’t like to be told when and where he can dance. That’s why he’s celebrating the state of New York lifting restrictions on people dancing in bars and restaurants. Until recently, the State Liquor Authority required applicants to have a special license if their establishment allowed dancing. Governor Kathy Hochul teamed up with Kevin to announce that New Yorkers can finally CUT LOOSE, because they’ve, quote, “eliminated outdated restrictions on dancing.” And that made Kevin feel like . . . you know . . . dancing.  (Here’s video.)

The University of Tennessee football team will carry a little piece of Dolly Parton onto the field this season. The Volunteers just announced that players will wear orange butterfly helmet stickers at every game this year.  And written on the butterfly is the word “Dolly”. Head coach Josh Heupel called her the “Queen of East Tennessee”.  And then went on to praise her for the impact she’s had . . . not just in Tennessee, but all across the country. In the past, Dolly has delivered the school’s commencement address . . . received an honorary doctorate . . . and performed on campus many times during her tour stops.  Dolly will always be a Volunteer.  In this life and the next.

Six of Ed Sheeran’s crew members were hospitalized this weekend, after being hit with stage equipment while breaking down after a show. It happened after Ed’s concert Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit.  It sounds like the accident involved a forklift, and took place in a vehicle tunnel as they were headed on a break. Two of the workers sustained serious injuries, but nothing life-threatening. The following day, Ed was at the Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, where he performed the Pokémon theme live during the closing ceremony.

Miley Cyrus . . . or is it just Miley? . . . announced her new album yesterday.  It’s called “Bass Persuades”, and it comes out in just over two weeks, on September 18th. Miley says, quote, “Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between.  That’s what the title means to me.  Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true.  I sincerely hope you love this album.” On Instagram, Miley shared a brief instrumental preview of the album, and also announced she’s doing two nights at the Hollywood Bowl, on October 16th and 18th.

Ella Langley returned to Auburn University for two sold-out shows and took time to honor one of the people who helped launch her music career. Years ago, her former teacher and mentor, Maury “Coach Pop” Popwell, gave her his guitar when she moved to Nashville to chase her country music dreams. So, she recently got to return the favor with a custom guitar as a “thank you” for his support.  Coach Pop has been teaching for 57 years, but it’s safe to say Ella is his most-famous student. Fans are wondering if Chris Young was performing drunk last week at the Concert in the Corn in Mason, Wisconsin. Because a TikTok of his performance is going viral, and not for the right reasons. He seems a bit inebriated.  But some were defending him because he was messing with his in-ear monitors, so they suggested it was a technical issue. (You can check out Chris performing here.  I didn’t know a technical issue could make you slur your words.)

Whiskey Riff.com says Post Malone poured out his beer in remembrance of Dolly Parton at a Canadian show. He told fans, “In the brief time that I’ve known her, [she’s] shown me so much and so much kindness and so much generosity to me. She’s changed and impacted so many people’s lives for the absolute better. I just wanted to raise a massive toast to the absolutely legendary Dolly Parton.”

Cleveland.com says Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are making September 25 an annual “Dolly Day” at their Nashville bar to support children’s literacy. Their Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk will donate its entire income that day to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The date is a reference to Parton’s “9 to 5.”

American Songwriter says Luke Bryan wants to follow Dolly Parton’s example by expanding his career beyond music. Bryan said he respects Parton’s various ventures, including her theme park and truck stop. He also said he does not want to look back at 75 and realize he missed parts of the world because he was too focused on himself. Music remains his first love, and he said any movie or Broadway opportunity would have to be “a very enticing departure from my norm.”

Lainey Wilson shared the marriage advice Dolly Parton gave her just weeks before her death. Wilson said they discussed the music business, its sacrifices, and the importance of their spouses. In a social media tribute, Wilson quoted Parton telling her, “it’s all great and stuff that Duck lets you be you, but you better make sure you let Duck by himself, too.”

Everything Nash says Kane Brown’s next album will include a duet with Shania Twain. Brown says the song is a male version of “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” and that he and Twain cleared it backstage at the ACMs after she heard it and liked it. He says the album will mix old-school sounds, including 1950s-style music, with newer styles and could include a hip-hop song. Brown says he pushed back the release while searching for the right songs and trying to make the project cohesive.

Luke Bryan says accusations that his song “Fish Hunt Golf Drink” was made with AI are false.  He addressed the online backlash during an interview.  The AI narrative started with a few social media posts before spreading.  Luke He previously told NBC that the song was designed to be fun and share what he loves to do.  He says most of the negative comments came from teens. “I’m like, ‘Well, wait.’ I’m not sure I’m happy about a bunch of teenagers telling a 50-year-old man he’s a piece of s— songwriter. And then I’m like, ‘Dude, you’re 16. You’re talking to a grown man who’s made a ton of money doing this. It’s just so far out there. I’m like, if I caught my kids doing some stuff like that, I would kill them.” Songwriter Chase McGill said the idea came from Bryan texting a friend a fish, deer, golf club, and beer emoji.

Country Rebel says Luke Bryan’s 18-year-old son, Bo, has received a football scholarship offer from Tennessee Tech. Thomas “Bo” Boyer Bryan plays for Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee, and already had offers from Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, North Alabama, and UT-Martin. Bo has not indicated a leading choice. Luke called watching his son play a “dream come true.”

MusicRow.com says Lainey Wilson has launched a Fall 2026 hat collection with Charlie 1 Horse. The line draws on Wilson’s Southern roots, music and stage presence, with wool-felt fashion hats, straw styles and classic cowgirl silhouettes.

The News International says Brad Pitt may have secretly married Ines de Ramon. Speculation is growing because of a recent interview. The 62-year-old actor and 33-year-old jewelry designer have been in a relationship since late 2022 and are reportedly living together. Pitt referred to having a spouse during an Esquire interview but did not provide details about his relationship status. A source tells the website, “He and Ines seem to be madly in love. They certainly looked and acted like a married couple at Taylor Swift’s wedding.”

News 5 Cleveland says Travis Kelce recently bought an eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom lakefront mansion in Bratenahl, Ohio for $5.35 million. The gilded-age mansion is nicknamed Moyenage. Its past owners include a former president of Sherwin-Williams and a former executive director of Cleveland Clinic Innovations. A Northeast Ohio renovation firm bought the property for $1.95 million in 2023 and restored it. The renovated mansion was listed at $6.99 million before Kelce purchased it.

GB News says Prince William has had a 12-foot saltwater crocodile named after him by conservationist and television star Robert Irwin. The naming recognizes William’s work supporting wildlife protection and conservation.The crocodile is the 300th to receive a tracking tag through a research program at the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Australia. Researchers will monitor the animal for the next decade, collecting data on its diet, diving abilities, and body temperature.

Woman’s Day magazine says Hugh Jackman has been trying to sell the New York apartment he once shared with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness. The former couple paid $29.3 million for the five-bedroom Manhattan triplex in 2008. They first listed it for sale in 2022 for $54.2 million, then removed it from the market two months later. The apartment was listed for rent at $174,000 a month before returning to the sales market in March for $40.1 million. Sources close to Jackman claim the property is creating strain in his relationship with Sutton Foster. “The tenant, who was supposed to stay there until December, has pulled out leaving it still currently sitting in a joint LLC with Deb, who has zero interest in Hugh’s generous offers to buy out his share. Hugh and Sutton have had to put off buying their dream country home until he gets this cash windfall. It’s been a frustrating time for them but they can see the light at the end of the tunnel”

Music News says a Michael Jackson military-style jacket could sell for between $243,000 and $486,000 at an upcoming music memorabilia auction. The black-and-gold jacket, decorated with 24-carat gold braiding, was worn by Jackson during public appearances between 1994 and 1996. The auction is scheduled for October 1st

Dark Horizons says Nicole Kidman may still return as Dr. Claire Lewicki in “Days of Thunder 2.” Kidman played the character opposite Tom Cruise in the original film. Their characters became romantic partners.  A source tells the website, “It’s a big leap for Nicole to jump onto a bro movie like Days of Thunder 2. Even if she’s just going to do a signature, one-scene cameo, it has to be creatively perfect for her to do it.” Anne Hathaway has already been cast as the female lead  “Days of Thunder 2” is scheduled to hit theaters in June 2028.
