Tinsel Town Talk – Wed 02/26/2025

It was just announced that Keith Urban will be joining the new music competition show on CBS called “The Road” that’ll air sometime in the fall.  Blake Shelton and “Yellowstone” creator, Taylor Sheridan, are executive producers. That explains why Blake exited The Voice. Here’s a description of the show:  “‘The Road’ offers viewers a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring artist . . . Viewers will see what happens when some of the best up-and-coming performers pile into a tour bus and tackle a grueling schedule in pursuit of their dreams.” (You can get free tickets to these shows by clicking, here.)

Today is a historic day.  “The Price Is Right” is airing its 10,000th episode.  To mark that milestone, they’re giving away $90,000 in cash and prizes. Over the years, 75,000 people have been called to “Come on down” . . . and contestants have walked away with more than $300 million in cash and prizes.

You can complain all you want about Taylor Swift “ruining” the NFL.  But unless you’ve got a BILLION DOLLARS you can fork over to the league, I don’t think they’re gonna listen. A marketing firm says she brings a BILLION DOLLARS in publicity to the NFL.  Even when she was booed at the Super Bowl it was good for business, because it kept the conversation going. And that gravy train might keep rolling into 2025, because the GM of the Kansas City Chiefs thinks Travis Kelce WILL play again next season.  Now the league just has to pray that he and Taylor don’t break up.

It’s only been two weeks since Taylor Swift got booed at the Super Bowl, and she’s still feeling the effects. She’s lost over 144,200 followers. She has 282 MILLION followers, so she probably doesn’t even notice. Travis Kelce, on the other hand, has gained over 12,370. He currently has 6.7 million. None of those followers are Taylor.  She doesn’t follow anybody, and he doesn’t follow her.

Hello! Magazine says Beyoncé’s upcoming Cowboy Carter tour is expected to feature a $2.7 million wardrobe, blending classic Americana with futuristic designs. Fashion experts predict a rodeo theme with a mix of traditional and avant-garde elements. A source says, “During the Renaissance World Tour, Beyoncé’s outfits were valued at significant amounts for their craftsmanship, rarity and celebrity provenance. For instance, her custom Alexander McQueen pieces were estimated between $21,600 to $30,200. Given this precedent, it’s plausible that her looks for the Cowboy Carter tour could be in a similar or higher price range, especially as her star power continues to rise.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s dog, Hobbs, sadly just passed away, and he paid tribute with George Strait’s song “What’s Going on in Your World”. (You can check out The Rock’s post, here.)

Chris Pratt says his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger inherited her dad Arnold’s Austrian toughness.  Quote, “As a parenting team, she is more of the authoritarian.” (You can watch Chris on “Jimmy Kimmel” here.  Go to 6:55 for his Katherine comments.)

Country music has surged in popularity in recent years . . . but there have been some side effects. For one: The criteria for what qualifies as country has greatly expanded . . . especially into pop, but also rock and hip-hop. Parker McCollum was talking about it in a recent interview, and he said that despite the bigger circus tent, he’s not sure he fits inside. (Here’s video.  Skip to 17 minutes in.  He doesn’t say what he WOULD call himself . . . but he’s DEFINITELY not into pop.)

Carly Pearce interrupted a show in England the other night to stop a FIGHT in the crowd.  She said everyone’s friends at her shows, so knock it off.  Someone posted the video on TikTok. (Here’s the video.)
