A&E is rebooting — rebilling? — one of its most popular series from the 2010s with a new iteration of Duck Dynasty. “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” will return to A&E this summer and will focus on Willie and Korie Robertson and their kids. Phil Robertson isn’t expected back. He’s battling Alzheimer’s disease. The original “Duck Dynasty” aired its last episode in March of 2017, almost eight years ago . . . after 11 seasons.
Robert De Niro isn’t playing a mob boss in his upcoming movie. Been there, done that. Instead, he’s playing TWO mob bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello in “The Alto Knights”, which hits theaters in March. And this might sweeten the pot: It was written by Nicholas Pileggi, who also wrote two of De Niro’s best mob movies, “Goodfellas” and “Casino”.
Ill-advised boat purchases have launched countless domestic disputes. Scarlett Johansson wants Colin Jost (Joe-St) to sell the Staten Island Ferry he bought with Pete Davidson in 2022for scrap metal. Davidson refers to it as the windowless van of the sea, Jost insists that his investment would soon prove its value. HE AND Davidson plan to make it into a restaurant/concert/movie theater venue with hotel rooms in the summer months in New York, and then tug it to Miami in the winter months.
Boston’s Berklee College of Music is going to be offering a Taylor Swift songwriting class next semester. The class’ description reads; “Delving into the core of her songwriting, this course will explore and analyze her compositional and lyrical choices. This class will concentrate on how Swift creates musical hooks, writes a chorus, composes a bridge, and how she uses rhythm, harmony, melody, metaphor, and storytelling to write compelling and global hit songs.” Students will be required to write their own songs.
I’m going to do a little public service announcement for people who have Netflix…Some people only have Netflix on their tvs, so they might not realize that there are over 50 free, ad-free games on the app if you download Netflix on your phone or tablet. Some are based on shows like “Stranger Things”, “Queen’s Gambit”, and “Love is Blind”…there is a wide array of games including: card, role playing, arcade, action, adventure, racing, sports, strategy and more….kind of something for everyone. They keep raising the rate, so I want to make sure that people are using everything they’re paying for…ad-free games…
Jelly Roll tells the New York Times newspaper that he dreads going to sleep at night because he still has demons from his past. “As jovial as I am in real life, the music is a reflection of a very, very dark hallway between my ears. My mind is the scariest place on earth for me. I dread going to sleep every night. The ghosts are there.’’
Jelly Roll tells The New York Times newspaper that he has learned to be comfortable crying in his mid-30s. “There’s no shame in it, man. It’s just a release. Like, sometimes you just need to let it out and feel all the emotions. I used to think it made me weak, but now I realize it’s actually a strength. It takes courage to be vulnerable, and it’s a part of who I am as an artist.”
Lainey Wilson tells Glamour magazine that she hopes to work with Miley Cyrus someday. “I’m a big Rolling Stones fan. Truthfully, a lot of their stuff kind of sounds country. I love that grittiness, I love that rawness. At some point in time, me and Miley Cyrus have to work together.”
The latest weirdness to go viral online is a video of an A.I.-generated Hank Hill from “King of the Hill” . . . singing the Morgan Wallen hit “Last Night”. It’s something, Alex, Kermit the Frog and Homer Simpson are also in the band,….and I have the link to that on our Morning Show page.
Most of the time you hear of aspiring actresses dying their hair blonde or even red to get ahead. But not Sofia Vergara. She decided to go from her natural blonde to brunette. She dyed her hair dark to make it in Hollywood and says it was worth the risk because it got her the role on “Modern Family”. Quote, “At the end of the day, it was hair. It was not like I was cutting my fingers off.” Sofia Vergara tells El País that her voluptuous body helped open doors for her. “My giant boobs and my body opened doors for me. They were my passport to the world when I was 20 years old. There are women who are prettier, younger, who have bigger breasts and a better body than me, but I’m still around because I have demonstrated that I can stay”
Chef Gordon Ramsay fulfilled a fan’s bucket list wish to meet him by flying her out to Miami to have dinner at Hell’s Kitchen and attend the grand opening of his new restaurant Lucky Cat. She has stage four terminal cancer and called the experience the biggest honor and the coolest night of her entire life. (You can watch Ramsay’s TikTok here, and Madison’s here.)
