Newsweek magazine says one of Matthew Perry’s doctors, Mark Chavez, pled guilty yesterday to distributing ketamine. He is now facing 10 years in prison for contributing to Perry’s fatal overdose. Mark lost his medical license and passport.

Jelly Roll was the musical guest this past weekend on“Saturday Night Live” . . . and a lot of people were wondering if he was going to test out his comedy acting chops. Turns out, he did film a skit, but it was cut for time, which actually happens a lot. But thankfully “SNL” posted it to their YouTube channel. It’s a really funny skit, but it runs over six minutes, so it makes sense why they had to cut it. (You can watch the whole scene, here.)

Us Weekly says Reese Witherspoon is collaborating on a thriller novel with bestselling author Harlan Coben. The book is set to be released in 2025

Billboard magazine says Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation is aiding pets affected by Hurricane Helene. The foundation has donated $100,000 to assist animal shelters and families. Miranda says,  “It’s a very dire situation because many of the shelters that got hit were already struggling with overcrowding. As we’ve been in contact with the shelters, we’re also hearing really heroic stories. People are risking their lives to help. It’s that type of courage that gives me hope that we’ll all get through this.”

Merle Haggard once held the record for buying the world’s largest round of drinks.  He bought 5,095 shots at Billy Bob’s honky-tonk in Texas back in 1982.  His record stood for 34 years. He did this in honor of his 28th hit song, “C.C. Waterback“ . . . and his tab was $12,737.50.  Which in today’s money is over $40,000.

Luke Combs is #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart . . . again . . . most recently with “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”.  Overall, he’s now spent 53 weeks on top, which is the equivalent of more than a year. That puts him in pretty elite company.  Kenny Chesney has the most #1 weeks on that chart, with 83, dating back to the chart’s launch about 25 years ago.
