The Daily Star says Demi Moore’s new film, “The Substance,” is so gory that some cinema-goers can’t stomach it and are walking out before the end. The Hollywood star plays a faded actress who injects herself with a serum, leading to horrifying scenes with her younger self. Fans are praising Moore’s performance, but find the movie too much. People are leaving the theater feeling queasy.

Alan Jackson lookalike Zach Top will open for him at four shows next year.  They announced it with a video of Zach playing “Sounds Like the Radio”, and then kicking into the chorus from “Chattahoochee”. Frank Darabont made “The Shawshank Redemption”, “The Green Mile”, and “The Mist”.  He also helped develop “The Walking Dead” for AMC.  But he hasn’t directed anything since 2013. Until now.  He came out of semi-retirement to direct two episodes of the upcoming season of “Stranger Things”.  Why?  Because the characters are NICE.  And, he said, that’s in short supply these days.

Prime Video’s “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” will be hosted by Travis Kelce and premiere on the streamer Wednesday, Oct. 16. The show offers a fun, new twist on the premise of the original popular format. Each game will welcome an adult contestant who will rely on a classroom full of celebrities from comedy, screen, and sports to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects pulled from elementary curriculum in an effort to win a $100,000 prize.

Ernest posted a clip of himself performing an unreleased song called “Blacked Out”, which was the track that helped him score his first publishing deal. He said it was “his first moment” . . . and it includes some smooth rapping.  In a previous interview, he said that he’d written it in college, which makes sense once you hear the “blacking out” lyrics.

People magazine says Goldie Hawn wants to make a wedding-themed comedy movie with Kurt Russell and their family. Goldie says, “Everybody goes to a wedding and everybody decides they’re going to separate. Oh yeah, it’s a comedy, by the way. But it doesn’t exist, it’s only in my mind. It’s very funny because weddings are funny and when everybody’s not getting along and you have to pretend it’s funny. We could do that.”
