1. “Novocaine,” $8.7 million. (The film cost $18 million to produce. It earned $1.8 million overseas for a total worldwide weekend take of $10.5 million)

For St. Patrick’s Day, Google looked at the green foods and drinks each state search for more than other states. Mississippi and Louisiana are putting booze in their Shamrock Shakes . . . Arizona is making green spaghetti . . . and California is going full Dr. Seuss with green eggs and ham. In Minnesota it’s “Green Monster Cookies” and here in Wisconsin it’s “Mint Brownies.”
Some people will be wearing orange instead of green on St Patrick’s Day. Irish Catholics wear green to honor St. Patrick, while Protestants wear orange for William of Orange. The Irish flag unites both colors to symbolize peace between the religions. The American Irish Historical Society says pinching those for not wearing green likely originated in America, not in Ireland.
An alleged global Guinness shortage is affecting St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Some pubs may not have enough on tap for the festivities.
There’s a new map of the most popular beers in every state . . . and there’s a LOT of love for the lighter stuff. But three states are ready for St. Patrick’s Day with their Guinness: Georgia, South Carolina, and New Jersey. In Minnesota & Wisconsin it’s Miller.
Also- scientists have found that the flavor of Guinness Beer changes when accompanied by different Irish music. Lighter music leads to a sweeter taste, while emotionally charged music makes the beer more bitter.

Power went out on Journey Friday night in Houston while they were in the middle of their biggest song, “Don’t Stop Believin'”. The crowd had no idea what had happened, but listen how they handled it. (Even when they see the band waving at the end, they still cheer.) It was due to an electrical fire near the stage. No one was injured. The TMZ story is incorrect. The stage did not go dark.
