1. “Captain America: Brave New World,” $88.5 million. (The film cost $180 million to produce. It earned $103.9 million overseas for a total worldwide weekend take of $192.4 million)

There’s a Swiss company online that’s selling TUBES OF COFFEE that you can spread on your morning toast.  It’s even thick enough that you could put it on fruit, like a banana.  Reactions online are . . . mixed. 

Eggs are so expensive that convenience stores are selling egg LOOSIES because people can’t afford a whole carton.  One place is selling a bag of three eggs for $2.99, or a full carton for $12.

On Valentine’s Day, Guinness World Records recognized the current record for the longest marriage for a living couple.  It’s a Brazilian couple who are now 105 and 101 years old.  They’ve been married an incredible 84 years and 77 days. They raised 13 children, who have given them 55 grandchildren . . . 54 great-grandchildren . . . and now 12 great-great-grandchildren.

A new poll asked, “If it were ever possible, would you drive across a massive bridge from the USA to Europe?”  Assuming there were proper facilities along the way . . . like rest stops and gas stations. 35% of people said YES . . . 19% of people said MAYBE . . . 18% said NO . . . and 28% said “HELL NAW!” Let’s do the math here.  If you go on Google Earth and draw a bridge the SHORTEST distance . . . from Maine to Portugal . . . that’s about 3,100 miles. Assuming a maximum highway speed of 85 miles per hour, it would take more than 36 hours to complete, assuming no stops and a constant speed.  It’s actually comparable to road-tripping from Maine to California.  Except it’s only a bridge . . . over water . . . with no other scenery. 

A Grand Blanc Township, Michigan judge recently is ordering Walmart shoplifters to wash cars in the store’s parking lot. Judge Jeffrey Clothier hopes the punishment will teach the 75-100 shoplifters a lesson. The judge believes in giving punishments with a purpose.

Texas is on track to overtake California and become the most populous state in the Union by 2045.  Texas’ population is expected to hit 42 million that year . . . a 35% increase from its current number of just under 31 million.
