Here are this past weekend’s box office results.
1. “Dog Man,” $13.7 million.
2. “Heart Eyes,” $8.5 million.
3. “Love Hurts,” $5.8 million. (The film cost $18 million to produce. It earned $1.1 million overseas for a total worldwide weekend take of $6.9 million)
Super Bowl attendees faced exorbitant food prices yesterday with salads costing $100 and beers priced at $17. Frozen coffee cost $19. A slice of pizza cost $13. A Louisiana Creole dish of white rice with either pork, beef or chicken cost $75.
People made pickle fountains for yesterday’s Super Bowl. Similar to a chocolate fountain, amateur chefs replaced chocolate with pickles in three story fountains. They then poured pickle juice instead of chocolate syrup into it and allowed the
juice to overflow onto the pickles.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has no plans to move the Super Bowl from Sunday to Saturday even though 22 million Americans are expected to call out sick today. He says, “The reason we haven’t done it in the past is simply just from an audience standpoint. The audiences on Sunday night are so much larger. Fans want to have the best opportunity to be able to see the game and we want to give that to them, so Sunday night is a better night.”
A study found traffic jams are making us fatter. We’re more likely to eat fast food when traffic is bad, especially for dinner. They think it’s because you know you’re getting home late, so you just don’t feel like cooking.
The Treasury Department is going to stop making new pennies due to production costs. Pennies cost more than two cents to make.
