The Dodgers beat the Mets last night 10-5 while the Yankees beat Cleveland 5-2. The Dodgers and Yankees will now meet in the World Series 

Joey Chestnut competed in a corn-eating contest on Saturday against Indiana University students. Chestnut devoured five cobs of corn in 45 seconds, outshining his collegiate competitors. The event took place ahead of Indiana’s game against Nebraska. 

Participating Five Guys restaurants are serving a new Popcorn Shake. It has popcorn syrup and real popcorn pieces. Customers can enjoy over 1,000 milkshake combinations with mix-ins like Oreos and bacon. 

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pizza seasoning is out. The seasoning is a blend of salt, garlic, onion, tomato and Aleppo pepper

Health experts are telling people they should never order fried cheese curds from popular fast food chains because they pose health risks like reduced cognitive function and weight gain. Nutritionists say the curds have a high unhealthy fat content and many calories. Instead, opt for healthier and lighter menu options.

If you want to sleep better at night, stop eating processed junk food before bed, or anything with high fat or acid content.  Cut down on portion sizes too, and don’t drink alcohol as a nightcap. 

Chocolate prices have more than doubled since the start of the year.  And candy companies are compensating by pushing more fruity and gummy candies for Halloween.  So, your kid’s Halloween bucket might have more of that stuff this year, and a little less chocolate. 

They say everything is expensive in California . . . so add this to the list:  A California brewer has debuted a special, seasonal lager that costs $120 for just a six-pack.  It’s supposedly “worth every penny.” 

A poll found Gen Z’ers now trust influencers more than their friends when it comes to new products to buy.  57% said they might buy something an influencer suggested, compared to 40% if a friend suggested it. 

A poll asked, “When you make a credit card purchase and are offered a space to sign, what do you typically do?”  68% of people say they sign an actual signature . . . and 19% draw a line or scribble.

Robot-operated restaurants are going to open in Walmarts across Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. Walmart robots are already making beverages at locations in Georgia and Illinois. They will now learn how to serve food. The innovative concept is expected to reshape the future of fast food service.

A high school in Orange County, California is making students scan QR codes in order to leave class. Edison High School wants to track students for their own safety. Some students have started a petition to remove the QR code system. One pupil, Jacob Green says, “If we don’t [return] within the seven minutes, we get marked as truant, absent, or late to class…it’s definitely unfair when you’re trying to use the restroom.”

An airport in New Zealand put up a sign that says farewell hugs in the drop-off lane are limited to three minutes.  “For fonder farewells,” use the parking lot.  

Minnie Mouse will make her debut at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year as a 60-foot balloon. The beloved character is joining Mickey, Donald Duck, and Goofy for the first time.

Disney is planning a Prince Charming movie. Chris Hemsworth is in talks to star in the film. Filming is slated to begin in 2025.
