California wildfires can be a disaster for wine grapes, even if they’re just exposed to smoke in the air.  But a new study says that wineries may have success using the “smokiness” in the wine as a PERK.

Floral experts are out with tips for prolonging the lifespan of fresh Valentine’s Day flowers. They suggest keeping vases away from fruits like bananas, apples, and pears because they release ethylene gas and speed up the maturation process of your flowers. Cutting stems at a 45-degree angle and using the flower food packet provided can further extend your flowers’ vibrancy and freshness for up to five days.  Regularly refreshing the water and removing wilted flowers or leaves will help maintain your bouquet.
