Robert Redford — actor, director, icon — has passed away at age 89. Off screen, he was just as remarkable — founding the Sundance Institute, giving a stage to independent filmmakers. The leading man with the golden-boy looks who won an Oscar for directing “Ordinary People” and later became a godfather for independent film as founder of the Sundance Film Institute, has died. He passed away at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah — the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. He was 89.

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are officially engaged! They’ve known each other since the 1990s but didn’t start dating until 2020, after reconnecting during the pandemic. Reba shared that Rex reached out when her mother was sick, and from there the bond grew quickly.  And they’ve been “pretty much inseparable ever since.” They now even work side-by-side on the sitcom “Happy’s Place” . . . which Rex calls a “dream come true.” This will be Reba’s third marriage and Rex’s first.  Congrats on the engagement Reba and Rex!

Sofía Vergara was supposed to present at the Emmys Sunday night, but ended up in an emergency room instead for an eye allergy. She wasn’t the only presenter who couldn’t make it. She shared a post which included a photo of her swollen left eye, and a video of her rinsing her eye out in a hospital sink.  Quote, “Sorry I had to cancel!  Craziest eye [allergy] right before getting in the car!”

Gavin Adcock responded to Zach Bryan climbing a barbed wire fence and trying to fight him.  Quote, “Had a headline show to play.  Dude was absolutely wasted.  Had to do what was good for the fans.  Everybody knows how that would’ve ended.”

The Daily Mail says Nicole Kidman is allegedly living in a lavish London mansion, separate from her husband Keith Urban. Kidman reportedly spends $88,000 a month on the property, once owned by Boy George.  An insider reveals, ‘They do make an effort to speak every day when they’re apart, but it’s shocking how much time they’ve spent apart since Nicole’s mother died last September. It’s like they both went their separate ways. Now she’s getting comfortable in a dream home in London on the other side of the world. No one knows how long they can put up with this situation as they’ve always been diligent about not spending more than two weeks apart. Clearly that’s not the case anymore.’

Shaboozey tells Holler Country magazine that he wishes he could spend more time at home. “Man, I’ve been on the road so much I’m barely home or in Nashville or in the same place. If I’m ever in Nashville, it’s an in-and-out thing, you know? We’re either on tour, doing an awards show or preparing for festivals. I wish I could spend more time at home in my own bed.”

Morgan Wallen was recently doing an interview for People magazine when he said his favorite Southern breakfast is biscuits and gravy. “Biscuits and gravy. Sausage and gravy. … I don’t like grits. … Probably grits are better for you, I don’t know. Actually no. They’re all bad.”

Jordan Davis tells GQ magazine that he treats his performances like athletic contests. “I take a sniff of smelling salts in a Solo cup before shows. I’ve been going a little harder on fitness recently, right? I used to try to get a workout in before shows. Now it’s a non-negotiable, like, we have to get a workout in.”

Russell Dickerson tells Country Living magazine that being “famous back home” with his family matters more to him than broader fame. “When you start off, you’re like, ‘Man, everybody in my hometown is going to know me; I’m going to be famous back home in my hometown,’ And then, now having kids and a family and traveling all the time, it’s like, when I run through the door, I want it to feel like a celebrity just walked in. ‘Daddy, daddy!’ You know? Like running to the door, so excited to see you. My worst nightmare would be the opposite of that; if they could care less that I’m home. Having a family that’s just so excited to have [me] back every time we come off the road is the most important, and the greatest feeling in the world.”

The National Enquirer and Newsbreak say Carrie Underwood may return to Hollywood to start an acting career.  A source says she allegedly wants to one up Taylor Swift. “It would give her a lot of satisfaction to tackle a real role. It would also be sweet to do what Taylor hasn’t been able to do and make inroads in that sphere. They’ve always been rivals, as everyone knows — there’s no love lost there.”

Naughty But Nice says Travis Kelce is allegedly feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of being with Taylor Swift. A source tells the outlet, “Every move he makes is magnified a thousand times because of Taylor. When he fumbles, it’s not just a football mistake — it’s headlines around the world. That pressure is eating at him. She’s worried. Taylor loves him, but she sees the toll this is taking. Travis has never dealt with this level of scrutiny before. Travis has never experienced this level of pressure before.”

Nick Cannon tells WQHT that fathering 12 kids was a trauma response to his divorce from Mariah Carey. “If I would have did the work and the healing after getting divorced, I probably would have took my time. I just didn’t do the work, so then I looked up 12 kids later and I’m like ‘Wow, I could have did things very differently. But I stand firm on all of my decisions because I love all my kids, I love my family infrastructure, but I know it all started from a place of pain and not really healing properly.”

MotorBiscuit says a thief recently stole Charlize Theron’s BMW by simply walking onto her property in Studio City, California and driving off with the car. She left the key fob inside.  The LAPD has recovered the vehicle. 

Does anyone even remember that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo dated from 2007 to 2009?  Well, Jessica had to be reminded of that fact recently because of a minor legal matter. During a show in Pittsburgh, Jessica told the crowd that Tony called her MOTHER to tell her that he was selling a boat she got him back in 2009.  And he needed Jessica’s signature, because her name was on the title. Jessica said, quote, “So, then I get paperwork, and I have to sign over this boat for him to sell.  And guess what he gave me as a thank you?  Plastic cups! “I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m glad we didn’t work out.'”  (Here’s video.) Jessica bought Tony the $100,000 speedboat for his 29th birthday.

TMZ says Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, has reached an agreement to close out his DUI case in Orange County, Florida. As part of the deal, Marcus must write a 250-word apology letter to the arresting officer. Marcus was accused of getting his Lamborghini SUV stuck on train tracks. Police video showed Marcus trying to use his father’s name during the arrest.

Kobe Bryant would have turned 47 on August 23rd . . . and Shaquille O’Neal came through with a gift for Kobe’s MOM. Kobe Bryant’s parents kept the Toyota Land Cruiser that Kobe drove in high school, so Shaquille O’Neal refurbished it for them as a gift.  Unfortunately, Kobe’s dad died in July of 2024, so he didn’t get to see it. Radar Online claims Kelly Clarkson was allegedly blindsided after her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, and former assistant, Brittney Marie Jones, hooked up. They secretly grew close during the pandemic lockdown at her Montana ranch. Blackstock and Jones strengthened their bond, sparking Clarkson to file for a divorce in June 2020. A source says, “What Kelly didn’t realize was she was literally housing her replacement. The lockdown gave Brandon and Brittney the perfect chance to get closer, right under Kelly’s nose. Kelly trusted them both completely. She never suspected the glances and private chats meant more.”

Female First says Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are still very interested in each other. A source reveals,  “They’ve decided to be much more private about it. They are still speaking and are very interested in each other. Justin has made plans to see her when she has downtime in a few weeks when she gets back from her tour in Brazil. Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating. They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes. She is travelling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.”

The NY Post says Bill Cosby’s NYC townhouse is listed for $29 million because he allegedly defaulted. Cosby and his wife are embroiled in legal battles over foreclosure and unpaid taxes. Cosby reportedly stopped making payments on the home in June 2024.  The mansion has 15 ft ceilings, limestone, mahogany floors, French doors, a Chef’s Kitchen, skylights, a private terrace and 11 fireplaces 

The Daily Dot says popular YouTuber Mr. Beast recently became an instant meme after letting Mike Tyson punch him before a boxing match. Tyson dropped Mr. Beast with a single gut punch and left him writhing in pain on the floor in response to the foolish challenge. Mr. Beast could barely speak after the incident as he clutched his stomach in agony.
