Texans Helping Texans: Miranda Lambert Steps Up

DRG News says Miranda Lambert is organizing a benefit show to help with flood relief efforts in the Lone Star State. Lambert urges everyone to come together and support Texans in need. She says, “Texans help Texans. Let’s make a difference. I’m working on more things to come. Hopefully next week [I’ll] announce some things I’m trying to do to help.”

Morgan Wallen’s album “I’m the Problem” is #1 on the Billboard 200 again.  This moves him into a tie for 5th place, with Drake and Harry Belafonte, for the most weeks on the chart by a male artist ever.

Neil Diamond attended a performance of the Neil Diamond musical, and sang “Sweet Caroline” from the audience.  Despite being 84 and battling Parkinson’s Disease, he gave it his all. (Here’s video.  And here are some pics posted by the star of the show, Nick Fradiani.)

JoBlo says Robert Englund, aka Freddy Krueger, will receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Halloween. This year, the holiday falls on Friday, October 31st. Englund has over 170 acting credits. 

NBC says Jelly Roll is set to wrestle at SummerSlam after recently facing off against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre. Jelly will team with Randy Orton at the event in New Jersey. Jelly Roll grabbed Paul by the hair during “SmackDown” and later took a brutal Claymore Kick from McIntyre. 

Country Now says Luke Bryan faced a swarm of mayflies during his concert at Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania. The bugs surrounded him while he played the piano. Luke joked about them, asking if they could be put on a pizza. 

In 39 days, we will be watching college football once again.  And to get us sufficiently pumped up, they just announced the 2025 SEC theme song. It’s “Backup Plan” by Bailey Zimmerman and Luke Combs. The teaser that ESPN posted has us ready to watch some pigskin right now, though.  But, other than that it’s pretty awesome. (You can listen to the full song, here.)

Disney Dating App Launching: The NY Post says Disney fans will soon have their own dating app. “Single Riders”  mirrors Disney World’s single rider lines, enabling fans to make love connections and new friendships.  The app allows singles to see if other singles are in the park at the same time as they are. The app’s developers are asking singles to contribute ideas 

Variety magazine says Michael Strahan and Chip and Joanna Gaines are among the guest sharks for the upcoming season of “Shark Tank”. The new additions will join returning sharks Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, and others on the show.  “Shark Tank” will air on Wednesdays on ABC this Fall.

Thomas Rhett surprised fans in Wantagh, New York by inviting Kevin James on stage to perform “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Woman.” Rhett posted photos on Instagram the following day. James previously joined Jelly Roll on stage in Columbus, Ohio and appeared in a Nate Smith music video. 

Country Now says an 87-year-old woman recently hugged and kissed Thomas Rhett during her first-ever country concert in Holmdel, NJ. The heartwarming moment was captured on video and shared online. The woman’s daughter was behind the touching gesture.  Rhett’s kind act left fans cheering and praising his generosity.

Bleeding Cool says Pumpkin Pet Insurance is hosting a Krypto the Superdog Look-a-like Contest in New York City. Dogs of all breeds can participate to win $1,000 and have $2,500 donated to a veterinary clinic of their choice. The money will be given for the Best Krypto Lookalike and the Least Krypto Lookalike. The Superman-inspired event will be held on Friday, July 18th.

The Daily Dot says people are crediting the new Superman movie with helping them get over their depression and anxiety. They say the film sparks feelings of hope and kindness. The movie, directed by James Gunn, is being described as “hopecore” for its optimistic and sincere storytelling. Fans are especially drawn to Superman’s message that kindness is powerful and radical. 

The Sun says Sydney Sweeney is the top choice for a key role in Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming James Bond movie. An insider shares, “Denis believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, vital in modernizing the franchise. They’ve hung out together a lot and he has admired her stratospheric rise. Plus Sydney has the quality of being athletic and able to perform physical scenes, as well as being feminine and following in the legacy of Bond girls.” 

RadarOnline.com says Jennifer Aniston may be eyeing Katy Perry’s ex, Orlando Bloom, as a potential love interest. Sources reveal,   “It’s open knowledge within her friend group that they got very, very close on more than one occasion, and she’s always raved about him being her ideal type. She’d never make a move on him while things are still in limbo with Katy, but if he does become available, of course, she’d jump at the chance. Orlando adores Jen. He thinks she’s a class act and doesn’t understand how she could be so unlucky in love,” the insider explained. “It’s got to be aggravating for Katy, the way he’s always drooling about her.”

The Sun says Brad Pitt has allegedly heightened security at his $6 million Los Angeles home after a break-in in June. An insider reveals, ‘He has personal security that was always there when he was in residence, but now he has guards there all the time. Locals did worry about the fact Brad didn’t put up a good fence or a hedge, and the home was fairly easy to access.’’
