Superman, Jeopardy & Reno

“Selling Superman…Equal Heights Amendment…& Making Sense of The California Curves!”

Superman- Writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster were the creators of Superman . . . and they sold the rights to the character for $130 in 1938, which is around $3,000 in today’s dollars.

Jeopardy- The contestants on “Jeopardy!” all stand on platforms that are adjusted to make sure they’re all the same height.  This helps reduce the need for constant readjustment of the cameras.

Reno & LA- Reno, Nevada is actually west of Los Angeles, because of the way California curves.  (Here’s a map.)
