Small Town, Pabst & Penguin

“Teeny Tiny One Person Town…Pabst Cheese….& Giant Penguins!”

Small Town- There’s only one incorporated town in the U.S. with a population of ONE:  Monowi, Nebraska.  The woman who lives there is 91-year-old Elsie Eiler.  She was born in 1934.  Since she IS the population of one, she is Monowi’s mayor, bartender, cook, librarian, town secretary, and clerk.  (Here’s a video interview with her from last year.)

Pabst- During Prohibition, the Pabst Brewing Company stayed alive by making a cheese called Pabst-ett.

Penguin- Several extinct penguin species were once as tall as people.
