Owning a dog may not make you happier. A recent study by Budapest’s Eötvös Loránd University reveals that dog ownership can lead to increased anxiety instead of joy. Researchers found that the initial boost in cheerfulness from getting a new pet, especially a dog, only lasts up to four months. The demands of pet care, vet bills and disobedience may outweigh the initial benefits for many dog owners. The study suggests that the widely held belief that pet ownership leads to lasting improvements in well-being may not always be true.
A professor at Penn State thinks more cities should ban left turns at intersections. Around 40% of all crashes happen at intersections, and over 60% of those accidents involve someone making a left.
