Scratch-Off Win Helps Ohio Man Cover Wife’s Medical Costs & Office Buys Stranded deaf Man Train Ticket To Get Home

A Carrollton, Ohio man hit a $500,000 jackpot on a lottery scratch-off ticket. He purchased the ticket after driving his wife to a medical appointment. Choosing to remain anonymous, he says the winnings will go toward covering her medical expenses.

A cop in Pittsburgh named Steven Harris is in the news after he used his own money to help out a stranger.  A hearing-impaired man who didn’t speak English was stuck at a Greyhound station trying to get to Montreal, and he didn’t have enough money to get there.  Steven took out his bank card and paid $113 to buy him a ticket.  Here is Officer Harris talking about why he did it.
