Scarlett Johansson Yelling: Surprisingly Effective Wolf Repellent

Remember that scene in the movie “Marriage Story” where they have that intense, knock-down-drag-out argument?  Well, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is using it to scare wolves away from livestock farms. They have drones with thermal cameras that seek out wolves lurking in the darkness.  When they find one, a loudspeaker blasts “alarming” sounds like fireworks, gunshots, and people arguing . . . including Adam and Scarlett. The process is called “Wolf Hazing”, and it works. At one location in Oregon, 11 cows were killed by wolves in a 20-day period.

Bryan Cranston’s Walter White from “Breaking Bad” has been named the greatest TV performance of the 21st Century.  Julia Louis-Dreyfus from “Veep” came in second, followed by Jon Hamm from “Mad Men” and Steve Carell as Michael Scott,  “The Office”. (You can see the entire list here.) (Some strong contenders who didn’t make it include James Gandolfini and Edie Falco from “The Sopranos”, Kiefer Sutherland from “24”, and Bob Odenkirk from “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”.)

When Blake Shelton was 17 years old, he moved to Nashville based on the advice of an 80-year-old woman. He asked music legend Mae Axton for advice on how to start his career.  She said move to Nashville, and get a job.  So, he took a job painting her house, and met her son Hoyt, who showed Blake a song he wrote called, “Ol’ Red”. So, the official rules for getting famous in Nashville are:  Get a job . . . but make sure one of your co-workers is an incredible songwriter and has a famous mom.

Russell Dickerson tells Holler Country magazine that his favorite time with his sons is the morning, when he gets those first smiles. “When they first wake up … They’ll just give a cute little smile and just talk to us for a little bit in the morning. I need my fix every day. I can’t go a day without that in my life, you know?”

Jackson Dean was doing a recent interview for CountryNow.com when he said he’s always been drawn to older people and maturity, even as a child. “I always liked hanging with the older folks. Even growing up I really didn’t vibe with kids my own age. I grew up pretty quick … I led a different kind of life than what the kids in my hometown were doing … working and being in the woods as much as I was.”.

Naughty but Nice says Jennifer Lopez allegedly caused chaos at The Today Show by demanding a warmer studio before going live. Producers rushed to adjust the temperature, with crew members bringing in heaters at the last minute.  Despite the backstage drama, J.Lo shined on camera once the heat was turned up. A source says, “Producers were in a panic. They had interns running to tweak the thermostat, crew members dragging in heaters — anything to keep J.Lo happy. She kept saying she couldn’t focus if she was cold. Everyone else was sweating, but J.Lo finally said, ‘Now it feels right.’ Every detail matters to her. If she’s uncomfortable, the whole set knows it. Once they cranked up the heat, she lit up the studio — and not just with temperature.”

Screen Rant says “Fast & Furious 11” is currently facing budget problems. The film may be on the verge of cancellation if Vin Diesel can’t cut at least $50 million from the rapidly ballooning $250 million budget. Universal Pictures has suggested reducing the movie’s cast and limiting its overseas shooting locations. The movie was expected to complete the “Fast” saga by concluding the cliffhanger from “Fast X” and bringing back Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character one final time. However, no release date has been set. The franchise has seen diminishing returns throughout the past several years.

Bruce Willis’ wife Emma recently revealed that she moved her husband into his own home as he struggles with dementia, and a lot of people didn’t like hearing that. She said it was the safest and best decision . . . not just for Bruce, but also for their two young girls. Emma says her “wakeup call” was when a neurologist told her that caregivers often die before their loved ones.  That’s when she decided it’s okay to ask for help. (Check out video here.)

Fox News says Lionel Richie almost became a priest before a fan’s comment altered his path. Richie, in his memoir “Truly,” shares, “I couldn’t figure out what the heck to do with my life, couldn’t figure it out. I’m as shy as I can be. And then I realized, maybe the priesthood might be the best way to go. Here’s what happened to change my mind. I joined the Commodores in my second semester of my sophomore year and something amazing happened. A lady on the front row of some club said, ‘Sing it, baby!’”
