RANDOM TIDS & BITS- Tues 11/19/24-

“Iconic Mascot Worth $5…Maybe Something In A Midnight Blue To Sneak Around…& More People But Not Bigger Government!”

Planters Peanuts was founded in 1906, but the “Mr. Peanut” mascot didn’t come along until 1916, when a 14-year-old schoolboy named Antonio Gentile submitted a drawing to a trademark contest. He received a $5 prize for his winning sketch, which doesn’t sound like much . . . but it’s about $150 in today’s money.  And the founder of Planters (Amedeo Obici) also paid for Antonio and four of his siblings to go to college.

Real ninjas didn’t wear all black . . . they wore dark blue, because it was a more effective way to blend in at night.

The House of Representatives expanded to 435 members in 1911, when the population was 94 million.  Today there are still 435 members, and the population is around 335 million.
