RANDOM TIDS & BITS- Thu 10/17/24-
“Do You hear White, Ink or Brown Noise?…His Mom Always Told Him To Wear A Coat…& Empire State Cream Cheese!!!”
“White noise” got its name because its spectrum resembles white light. “Pink noise” was named because its spectrum resembles pink light. And “Brown noise” was named after a Scottish botanist named Robert Brown.
William Henry Harrison gave a presidential inauguration speech that was two hours, even though there was bad weather in D.C. He also didn’t wear a coat, to show how tough he was. But then he got sick . . . and died one month into his term.
Despite its name, Philadelphia Cream Cheese was invented in New York state, not Philadelphia. This was in 1872. It was not marketed as “Philadelphia Cream Cheese” until 1880. At the time, the Philadelphia area had a reputation for high-quality dairy farms, so they used the name to allude to that.
