RANDOM TIDS & BITS- Mon 11/04/24-
“Poor Unpopular Dates!…I’m Lookin’ At You-Even From Up High On The Shelf! …& There’s Nothing More Tragic Than Singing Goats!”
Someone analyzed which dates were the most commonly mentioned in “Jeopardy!” answers over the past 40 years, and not surprisingly, the most frequent date mentioned is July 4th. It happened 171 times. Every date was mentioned at least a couple times. The LEAST common are: February 25th . . . November 12th and 13th . . . and December 11th. All of them got just THREE mentions in 40 years.
The mascots on kids’ cereal boxes, like Tony the Tiger, are drawn so their eyes are looking slightly DOWNWARD. That’s a trick to make sure that if the boxes are on a high shelf at the grocery store, the mascot is making eye contact with kids.
The word “tragedy” comes from the Greek word “tragoedia,” which literally translates to . . . “goat song.” No one’s quite sure why, but the best theory is that it refers to actors dressing as goats and mythical creatures in plays.
