RANDOM TIDS & BITS- Fri 12/5/24-

“What A Show-Off ….It’s All About The Lectern –No Platform…&…Life Without Snow!

A guy named Philip Noel-Baker from England is the only person who’s ever won an Olympic medal and received a Nobel Prize.  He won a silver as a runner in the 1500 meters at the 1920 Olympics, then went into politics and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1959.

We misuse the word “podium.”  Podium means a raised platform on the ground.  The thing you stand behind and put your papers on is called a lectern.

Two-thirds of the people in the world have never seen snow in real life.
