New “research” analyzed U.S. accents, and found that Boston and Cajun accents are the most trustworthy . . . while Mountain West and New Jersey accents are the least trustworthy. The “friendliest” accent is the New York accent.  The accent most linked to “financial crimes” was the Midwestern accent. 

Scientific American says recent research suggests that making Standard Time permanent could reduce obesity and stroke rates. The Stanford University study found that sticking with Standard Time would lead to 2.6 million fewer cases of obesity and 300,000 fewer annual strokes in the U.S. Experts agree that permanent Standard Time has significant health benefits compared to Daylight Saving Time.

Doctors have developed “special eye drops” for people with longsightedness, that could replace the need for reading glasses or surgery.  It’s unclear when they might become available. You wouldn’t have to be constantly lubricating your eyes, or even dropping the solution right before reading.  It could be as simple as using them twice a day. The idea is that this could be more convenient than carrying around reading glasses . . . and it would be a lot less invasive than surgery.

A California woman, named Isis, was told by the state’s DMV to return her personalized license plate because it reads “IAMISIS.” Isis Wharton, named after the Egyptian goddess Isis, is proud of her name.  The DMV claims the plate could be linked to the Islamic terrorist group. Wharton plans to challenge the decision.

Nick Cannon says that fathering 12 kids was a trauma response to his divorce from Mariah Carey. “If I would have did the work and the healing after getting divorced, I probably would have took my time. I just didn’t do the work, so then I looked up 12 kids later and I’m like ‘Wow, I could have did things very differently. But I stand firm on all of my decisions because I love all my kids, I love my family infrastructure, but I know it all started from a place of pain and not really healing properly.”
