New “research” analyzed U.S. accents, and found that Boston and Cajun accents are the most trustworthy . . . while Mountain West and New Jersey accents are the least trustworthy. The “friendliest” accent is the New York accent.  The accent most linked to “financial crimes” was the Midwestern accent. 

Scientific American says recent research suggests that making Standard Time permanent could reduce obesity and stroke rates. The Stanford University study found that sticking with Standard Time would lead to 2.6 million fewer cases of obesity and 300,000 fewer annual strokes in the U.S. Experts agree that permanent Standard Time has significant health benefits compared to Daylight Saving Time.

Doctors have developed “special eye drops” for people with longsightedness, that could replace the need for reading glasses or surgery.  It’s unclear when they might become available. You wouldn’t have to be constantly lubricating your eyes, or even dropping the solution right before reading.  It could be as simple as using them twice a day. The idea is that this could be more convenient than carrying around reading glasses . . . and it would be a lot less invasive than surgery.
