Post Malone Thinks Small with New Bud Light Minis
Geo TV says Paramount Pictures co-chair Josh Greenstein confirmed yesterday that a sequel to “Top Gun: Maverick” is in development and will star Tom Cruise. The sequel was previously teased as Cruise’s “last ride” as Maverick. Top Gun: Maverick remains the highest-grossing movie of Cruise’s career with $1.5 billion at the global box office. It marked his return 36 years after the original and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Post Malone is celebrating 10 years of teaming up with Bud Light with a new product: MINI BEERS. Quote, “We knew we had to do something . . . small! It’s a simple thing: If the Bud Lights are mini, they stay cold longer for you and your buddies to enjoy. Genius, if I say so myself.” There will be 7-oz. bottles and 7.5-oz. cans and they’ll be co-branded with the “Posty Co.” logo. Posty made the announcement with a short film called “The Smallest Bar in the West”. The minis will make their debut at the Stagecoach Festival next week. He’s headlining on Sunday, April 26th. They’ll be available nationwide on May 4th. (You can watch the short film “The Smallest Bar in the West” here.)
In the original “Spaceballs”, the character Yogurt . . . played by writer-director Mel Brooks . . . says the sequel will be called “Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money”. And even though it’s been 40 years, I was kinda hoping they’d commit to the joke. But they’re not. Mel posted a video yesterday saying that “Spaceballs 2” will NOT be “The Search for More Money”. Instead, the official title is . . . “Spaceballs: The New One”. (I wonder if we, the fans, can do anything about that. There’s a precedent, you know. Twenty years ago, they tried to change the name of “Snakes on a Plane” to “Pacific Air Flight 121”.) (But thanks to fan outrage, they changed it BACK. Of course, Samuel L. Jackson campaigned for it, too. Maybe we can get him to help out on this one. I mean, he’s part of the “Star Wars” universe. He HAS a stake in this.)
Newsweek magazine says LL Cool J is going to star in “NCIS: New York”. The spinoff has been greenlit for the 2026–27 season. The show will pair him with Scott Caan.
Thomas Rhett says he got the idea to name his son Brave Elijah while drinking wine. Country Now quotes him as saying, “The name of the wine was Mount Brave. So I asked Lauren about the name Brave for a boy. We loved what that word meant for a boy or girl. We were in the hospital, they gave us the birth certificate, and we still didn’t have a middle name. I was reading Elijah’s story in the Bible, and he led an incredible life. So we settled on Brave Elijah.”
Swift Urged To Hire SWAT For Wedding: Radar Online says Taylor Swift has allegedly been urged to deploy private SWAT-style marksmen at her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce. A source says, “Taylor and Travis’ teams have effectively been told to think in terms of high-level threat planning. At this point, bringing in private SWAT team-style marksmen and specialist units isn’t being treated as excessive – it’s being discussed as a necessary layer of protection, and the couple is being warned they should bring them in. When you have this concentration of wealth, celebrity, and advanced information out there, it creates a scenario where planners have to assume worst-case situations and prepare accordingly. The entire estate is already being treated like a sealed environment by security consultants. You’re looking at layered perimeters, restricted entry zones, and rapid-response teams on standby – it’s closer to a controlled military or police operation than a typical celebrity wedding.”
Us Weekly says Reba McEntire’s son Shelby Blackstock and his wife Marissa are expecting their first baby. The couple shared the news on Instagram; “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October.”
Darius Rucker signed a deal with the WWE. But sadly, he isn’t going to actually WRESTLE. It’s for clothing. Darius says, quote, “Not sure if y’all knew this, but I’m a HUGE wrestling fan!! I have been my whole life! That’s why I’m so excited to share the new WWE line in my Fanatics collection.”
Justin Moore tells CountryNow.com that he’s gotten used to falling on stage. “Well I fell on stage a few times. I fell off stage a time or two. It’s like old hat now. I used to get so worried and embarrassed when it happened. But now it’s just part of the show. I fall, I get up, and I keep going.”
Vincent Mason was recently doing an interview for People magazine when he said that he was afraid to run some of his songs past his father. “I thought he’d be the type of guy to tell me all my songs were great. But m y dad’s a straight shooter. He told me, ‘If you’re bad, I’m gonna tell you.’ So, I finally played him a few. And he said, ‘There’s actually something there. You should keep going.’”
Jason Aldean tells CountryNow.com that there were several times he almost quit music because he wasn’t succeeding. “There were definitely moments where I thought, ‘Maybe this isn’t going to happen. Maybe I should just go home.’ I can’t count the number of times I sat in my car and wondered if I was ever gonna make it. I’m glad I stuck with it. The pain was definitely worth it to get to where I am now.”
Megan Moroney was doing a recent interview with Southern Living magazine when she said she loves to stop at Buc-ee’s when she’s on the road. “I really love the confetti cookie dough that they have. I love the banana pudding. Typically I will definitely get some sort of beef jerky—I like trying all the flavors.”
Josh Ross tells Muscle And Fitness magazine that he didn’t take singing as a career choice seriously when he was younger. “I would sing at parties or karaoke or whatever it may be, but I didn’t take it seriously at first. It wasn’t the cool thing. Sports was the cool thing. Singing was just a way to get women to pay attention to me.”
Radar Online says Jim Curtis is allegedly helping Jennifer Aniston work through memories of her 2005 split from Brad Pitt. A source says, “Jennifer has done a lot of work on herself over the years, but hypnosis is something that has really helped her go back and unpack feelings she thought she had already dealt with, especially when it comes to Brad. For a long time, she told herself she was fine and had moved on, but the truth is she really hadn’t fully let go of the pain of her divorce and all the abandonment she felt when Brad left her for Angelina. She says hypnosis was the missing piece, that it helped unlock something in her subconscious that allowed her to completely shed that old story of herself as the victim. She’s been able to forgive Brad, too. Things have healed to a point where Jen would be open to working with Brad if the right project came along, which says a whole lot about how much she’s managed to heal.”
RadarOnline.com says Taylor Frankie Paul recently signaled that she is ready to tell all for the right price. She could earn a six figure payday with a tell all about her time on The Bachelorette and her legal trouble. Publishers are talking with advisors as interest grows in a book about her life and the Mormon Wives world. A source says, “Taylor knows she’ll have a tough time convincing people she’s no villain, but she figures if there’s money to be made by telling her side of the story, then why the hell not. Major publishers are salivating to meet with her.
The Daily Star says Las Vegas recently hosted CinemaCon where 007 producers gave an update on the next James Bond movie. Amazon MGM Studios says the search for a new 007 continues with names like Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner in the mix. “It is the dream of a lifetime for all of us to bring audiences this next chapter, and it’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.”
Showbiz411 says Lana Del Rey recently released her rejected James Bond theme song “First Light”. It is from the video game of the same name. The track was written for the Bond game but was not chosen for a film.
Meghan Markle tells Page Six that she is the Most Trolled Person In The World. “Every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. I was the most trolled person in the entire world. Social media abuse is an issue that rings true for me in a very real way. That industry, that billion-dollar industry that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks — that’s not going to change.”
Yahoo Life says Denny’s is rolling out a limited-time He-Man themed menu. It features the He-Man Battle Burger with beef, pulled beef, bacon, barbecue sauce and fries. Other items include Eternia’s Premium Breakfast Slam with mint chocolate chip ice cream on pancakes, Jr. Grayskull’s Epic Cracklecakes, and Skeletor’s Dark Shakeverse. ‘’Masters of the Universe’’ opens in theaters on June 5th
Reese Witherspoon says people need to keep up on A.I. Quote, “The thing I’ve learned about technology is if you don’t get a little bit of understanding from the very beginning, it just speeds past you.” (She got a lot of blowback from her followers on this. You can read some of their comments here.)
