Pickles, Lettuce & Country Alphabet
“Prego Pickle Mascot…Lettuce Milk?…& There’s One “O”,”Q” & “Y”- But, No “Z”!”

The mascot for Vlasic Pickles is a stork because storks are associated with pregnancy . . . and Vlasic wants pregnant women craving pickles to choose their brand.
The word “lettuce” was derived from the Latin term “lactuca” (pronounced “lak-TOO-kah“). “Lac” means “milk” in Latin . . . that’s a reference to the white substance, “latex,” that oozes out of its cut stems. (That latex has also been called “lettuce opium,” and it’s perfectly safe to eat.)
Oman is the only country in the world that starts with the letter O . . . Qatar is the only country that starts with Q . . . and Yemen is the only country that starts with Y. There’s no country that starts with X.
