Owls cannot move their eyes.  Their eyes are not balls, but cylinders that are held in place by bones.  Because of that, owls have evolved to be able to rotate their head 270 degrees left and right, and 90 degrees up and down.

Turkmenistan is finally extinguishing its “Gateway to Hell,” a mysterious fire that has been burning for decades in a huge desert gas crater.  Some people believe it formed when a Soviet drilling operation went wrong in 1971 . . . but more recent investigations have failed to determine how it started.

Most pencils sold in America today have eraser tips, while those sold in Europe usually don’t.  British consumers typically buy erasers separately.  And they refer to these standalone erasers as “rubbers.”
