Ocean- There are only two U.S. states where it’s legal to own the ocean.  Or more specifically, the beach, below the high tide line.  Private citizens in Massachusetts and Maine can own land all the way to the low tide line, allowing them to block the public from the area between the high and low tide lines.

Poison- There is a poison called “ciguatoxin” (pronounced “SEE-gwah-toxin”) that can reverse the heat and cold sensation of its victims.  The toxin is carried by some fish.

Guilt- In medieval England, if an accused person did not have 12 people to vouch for his innocence, he was presumed guilty.
