Music, Hope, and $8.5 Million Raised for Texas Flood Relief

On Sunday night, some of Texas’ biggest stars took the stage at the Moody Center in Austin.  And they didn’t just bring the music, they brought real help to those still affected by the devastating floods. It was called “Band Together Texas” featuring headliners Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum . . . and it was kicked off by a moving introduction from Matthew McConaughey and raised over $8.5 million. Even “The Bachelor’s” Chris Harrison joined in. But perhaps the best part of the night was an emotional rendition of “How Great Thou Art” by Cody Johnson . . . Not a dry eye in the house. Proceeds will support the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and the Central Texas Community Foundation.

Jimmy Kimmel launched his playful, fake “feud” with Matt Damon 20 years ago, back in 2005.  But all those jokes almost came back to bite him in the butt . . . because he could’ve been arrested for Matt’s MURDER, “Clue”-style. Jimmy Kimmel just shared an untold story about a time when Matt Damon was at his house, and started choking on a pork rib.  It was too far down to do the Heimlich, so they YouTubed how to get it unstuck . . . and discovered that you can get it to move using “little pieces of bread.” The rib was stuck for “about an hour and a half” . . . so clearly this wasn’t a situation where the WINDPIPE was blocked.  Instead, it’s where you have food lodged in your FOOD PIPE. (Even if it’s a FOOD PIPE “choking” issue . . . and there’s discomfort because it isn’t going down . . . don’t rely on this bread thing.) (Try to wash it down with water, and if that isn’t working, consult a doctor.  Because you CAN suffer throat injuries from bones and other hard objects if they aren’t removed safely.  #LongLiveMattDamon)
