Kid Games

Wed’s 4/08/25 Question- $60 Hy-Vee Gift Card-

Q: According to a recent national survey—people were asked:
What’s a game you used to play as a kid that would probably NEVER be allowed today?
“Red Rover” was #1 on the list. What comes next?

A: Kick the Can (Outdoor children’s game combining tag and hide-and-seek, often played in the evening. One person (“It”) guards a can while others hide, then tries to find and “jail” them. Hiders try to “kick the can” to free all captured players and reset the game)

3)–Smear the #$%@& (playground football pileups)
4)–Ghost in the Graveyard (full darkness, hiding in yards/woods)
5)–King of the Hill (pushing people off snow or dirt piles)
6)–Crack the Whip (yanking kids across the playground)
7)–Chicken Fights (on shoulders in the pool)
8)–Lawn Darts (yeah… those things)
9)–BB Gun wars / way-too-close target practice
10)–Street hockey in the road (no fear of traffic)
