Jellybeans, Catchers & Plutonium

“Flavors Of Jelly Belly In My Belly…Lefty Behind The Plate A Rarity….& Put The P-U In Plutonium!”

Jellybeans- The original eight Jelly Belly flavors that were introduced in 1976 were:  Lemon, Root Beer, Tangerine, Cream Soda, Green Apple, Licorice, Grape, and Very Cherry, which has been the most popular flavor since 2003.

Catchers- The last time a left-handed catcher played in the Major Leagues was in 1989.  Due to the nature of the throws, lefties struggle to play catcher.  It’s also very rare to see left-handed throwers at third base, shortstop, and second base.

Plutonium- Nuclear physicist Nicholas Kemmer suggested the atomic symbol “Pu” for plutonium deliberately as a joke because it resembled “P.U.,” as in a foul smell.  But no one objected, and it made it onto the periodic table.
