He Gave Us Good Vibrations: Remembering Brian Wilson
Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson has died. He was 82. There’s no word on the cause of death, but Brian was diagnosed with dementia and placed in a conservatorship last year. Wilson was considered one of the great pop songwriters of all time. His legacy includes more than 30 Top 40 singles and the iconic album “Pet Sounds.” Wilson is survived by his daughters Carnie and Wendy . . . who found success in the group Wilson Phillips . . . and five adopted children from his second marriage. Netflix has an animated “Stranger Things” spin-off in the works, and they dropped some details yesterday. It’s called “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85”, and it takes place in the winter between Seasons 2 and 3 of the O.G. series. It’ll feature the original characters, plus a new one: Nikki, a tough girl with a mohawk. The kids will, quote, “fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town.” It won’t be out until next year. The fifth and final season of the live-action “Stranger Things” is being released in three parts later this year, between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve.
The most action-packed “Superman” trailer yet just dropped.
The Globe says Timothée Chalamet is allegedly avoiding Kylie Jenner’s family. A source says, “Kris, Kim and Khloé can’t understand why he’s so antisocial and downright snobby towards them. They’ve extended endless invites to family gatherings, fancy restaurants and weekends away in Palm Springs. Timmy appreciates that Kylie’s family is trying to get to know him, but he’s wise enough to be aware that they almost certainly have ulterior motives, like getting him onto The Kardashians and using his name and connections for networking purposes. Once in a while Timmy obliges but he’s rarely there longer than an hour, and any time he can find an excuse to bail, he does. As far as being wrapped into the Kardashian world, he’s got zero interest whatsoever. Timmy’s seen the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Kanye West, Lamar Odom and so many other dudes who’ve been ruined once Kris got her claws into them. He’ll be damned if that’s his path.”
The Globe says Jeremy Renner is not interested in dating Jessica Simpson even though she keeps messaging him on social media. A source says, “She’s throwing so many olive branches and hints, and Jeremy hasn’t bit on any of them. She’s enjoyed the playful online banter, but her friends think she’s reading too much into it. Right after she broke up with Eric, she made it clear she was aching to reunite with Jeremy. She’s been sliding into his DMs and dangling the opportunity. In her mind, she thinks he’s the perfect guy to rebound with and can get something serious going with him. But he’s clearly not down with it. You’d think she’d get the hint, but she isn’t.”
