Gwen & Blake Take Us Over the Rainbow with Amazon’s “Dorothy”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are producing a musical young adult series for Amazon called “Dorothy” . . . based on “The Wizard of Oz”. A modern “follow the Yellow Brick Road” path as a metaphor for the roller-coaster of young adulthood life infused with song and a sprinkle of Oz-magic for a fresh take on a timeless classic.

No surprise here:  A “Kpop Demon Hunters” sequel is in the works. It’s the most watched film EVER on Netflix.  There are now talks for making this into a trilogy, a live-action adaptation, a TV series, a stage musical and a short film to bridge the gap between major installments.

The Globe says Steve Carell is allegedly open to playing look-a-like Alice Cooper in a biopic. A source tells the magazine, ““They have been told time and time again that they look so much alike, and it cracks them up. Steve and Alice agree there are similarities – Alice looks like Steve with long hair and makeup, and Alice has a whisper of that Carell smirk, and that’s probably why they get along so well. Steve likes to think he has musical talent too. He can sing a mean Taylor Swift song, which he’s already proven.’’

Complex magazine says Jay Leno recently drove a 1972 British Scorpion tank in Los Angeles traffic. The tank is the world’s fastest and can go 51 mph. 

Lana Del Rey announced that her country album is called “Stove” and it’s expected in January.  She said, “Eight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country.  Now everyone is going country!” After Post Malone and Beyoncé shook things up with their own country projects, Lana has confirmed that her long-delayed country record is on the way. She’s been dropping breadcrumbs toward Nashville for some time.  In 2023, she covered John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and surprised fans at Robert’s Western World with Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man”.

Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria is expected to be on the next season of “Dancing with the Stars”. The mom of seven has been teasing fans with frequent dancing videos, featuring her husband Alec Baldwin, over the last few weeks.

It’s time for yet another story about a “Knight Rider” movie in the works.  The creators of “Cobra Kai” are said to be producing a big-screen take on the ’80s show that starred David Hasselhoff.  We’ve been here before.  In 2017, it was supposedly going to star John Cena and Kevin Hart. Then in 2020, the director of “Saw” and “The Conjuring” was supposed to make one.

Kris Jenner is fully admitting she had a facelift recently.  In the new issue of everyone’s favorite magazine, “Vogue Arabia”, she says it was a “refresh” of the facelift she got 15 years ago.

At a convention in Michigan last weekend, a fan asked Henry Winkler to sign . . . his CASKET.  And he DID.  He even wrote “Rest in Peace.”
