For years, 78-year-old Noreen made it her tradition to take each of her 16 grandchildren on a special trip after they finished middle school — sometimes to Disney, sometimes to the Grand Canyon, even once to New York City. Now the grandkids decided it was her turn. They secretly planned a family getaway to Hawaii and revealed the surprise mid-flight with the help of a flight attendant.

One grandchild shared how much those trips meant growing up, and Noreen herself got emotional talking about the joy of having a family that wanted to return the favor in such a big way.
