Yorkshire, England-born Edith Hill, who recently turned 106, attributes her longevity to eating lots of chocolate and being independent. She got a double chocolate cake and 40 cards for her birthday.

A video rental place in Idaho closed . . . because it’s 2025.  But the owner did something pretty cool for a longtime customer with Down syndrome.  She 35 and mostly nonverbal.  Renting movies has been part of her routine for 15 years. David Kraning owns the place, and also a convenience store next to it.  So he carved out a corner of the store and turned it into a mini video store she can still go to.  He hung onto a bunch of her favorite movies, so she can still rent them.  (Here’s a photo.)
