“GOOD STUFF” STORY- Thu 11/07/24
A New York library recently invited children to read with a small group of therapy dogs. Children selected books from the shelves before sitting down with the pooches to practice their reading skills. The event offered young people a low-stress environment to work on reading at their own pace. Attendee Ellen Baggerman says, “[The kids] love to read to the dogs, and they don’t feel threatened when they read to the dogs. So I think that’s the best part. There’s no judgment. They read to the dogs, and they pet the dogs. They can just enjoy being with them, and it’s just a good experience all around.”
