From Stage to Steel Cage: Jelly Roll’s SummerSlam Smackdown

Jelly Roll may be a country music star, but after his match at SummerSlam, he might be considering a new profession. He was in a tag-team match with Randy Orton against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.  Logan even jumped from the top rope and slammed Jelly through an announcer’s table.  Jelly lost the match, but got back up and delivered a choke slam of his own . . . But Logan and Drew still walked away with the win. And if that’s not all, his hit song “Liar” even became the official SummerSlam theme. You can watch highlights of the match here.

Loni Anderson, one of the stars of the classic sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati”, died yesterday following an “acute prolonged illness.”  She would have been 80 tomorrow. Loni spent a lot of the 1980s in the tabloids, thanks to her marriage to Burt Reynolds.  They got hitched in 1988, after years of dating. Their divorce in the early ’90s was one of Hollywood’s ugliest.  It took them more than 20 years to completely settle it.

Just because I would spend twice as much time pursuing my passion of writing and singing and playing.” You can watch that interview here.  This story starts at the 6:57 mark.

The Globe says Blake Shelton indulges his wife Gwen Stefani with expensive jewelry to express his love. A source reveals, “One of the big things Gavin Rossdale never understood about Gwen is how seriously she takes the gesture of a gift of jewelry. It means something to her. It’s a cultural thing, going back to her being a kid in Orange County, [California] — even if you were a bit of a punk like Gwen was, having a cool necklace or flashy ring meant something. Blake has managed to hone in on that and turn Gwen’s love of jewelry into something they can truly share. Gwen is pretty bold in her tastes, and living up to that has cost Blake millions of dollars, be it on conflict-free diamonds or on Gwen’s taste in funkier, more exotic gold pieces.”

They make for a beautiful couple…Liam is a gentleman, he’s warm and present, he’s a very lovely man.”

Everything good about it. But on the flip slide, the “trepidation” is that you release something else that taints what the original represented. I don’t want to taint my memory of it,”

The NY Post says the Sex and the City spin off “And Just Like That” is ending after three seasons. The show’s creator, Michael Patrick King, says it was the plan all along to conclude the series.  Fans were not pleased with the show’s attempt at diversification and the departure of key characters. The final episode of “And Just Like That” is set to air on August 14th on HBO Max.

A source says, “They told her — but it wasn’t a conversation. It was, ‘We’re done.’ No discussion. No collaboration. Just final. She thought they were building something long-term. She was all in. What stings most is how transactional it was. No party. No tribute. She made them billions. Syndication, streaming — she helped shape modern HBO. They treated her like a liability, not an icon.”
