How Tom Cruise Pulls Off Some of his Wildest Stunts
Have you ever wondered how Tom Cruise pulls off some of his wildest stunts? Here’s a hint: He doesn’t skip breakfast. He ate a massive breakfast before hanging from a plane and wing-walking in “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”. It included almost a dozen eggs, bacon and toast and coffee and fluids because he burns a lot of energy. (You can read Tom’s complete interview at People.com.)
Fresh after winning the ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year, Zach Top flew to New York City to be on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon. Zach sang his hit, “I Never Lie”. Fans loved the performance, with even one saying, “This man’s saving country music.” And when Zach was asked recently why everyone seems to be gravitating towards his sound right now, he said, “People are starving for stuff that’s real . . . that isn’t filtered and prettied up.”
We never got a second season of “Hawkeye”, and Jeremy Renner just revealed why. He was offered half the amount of his season one salary . . . and this was AFTER his snowplow accident on New Year’s Day 2023. He said, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over?'”
Page Six says Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, allegedly demanded an exec producer role on North Carolina football’s “Hard Knocks”. An insider says, “She wanted to see dailies of the proposed show and allegedly told execs to treat her with respect, or they wouldn’t get to use the coach’s “IP”. The ‘Hard Knocks’ people were like, we can’t deal with this goodbye, and they walked away.”
The Tony nominees were announced yesterday, and Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal were NOT recognized for their hit adaptation of “Othello”.
InTouch Weekly says Billy Ray Cyrus ‘feels pretty lucky’ to be dating actress Elizabeth Hurley. A source tells the magazine, “Billy Ray has been through tough times and he’s had his heart stomped on, but he never gave up on love. He feels pretty lucky, like he’s finally met his match in Liz.”
Charles Barkley tells the “Dan Patrick Show” that he is concerned for his friend Bill Belichick because his girlfriend Jordon Hudson hijacked his CBS interview. “I’m not sure what’s going on. He’s been a great friend for me for a long time. We’ve been great friends since he coached for the Browns. I think he’s got to be very careful right now. This is starting to be on a very slippery slope. He’s the greatest football coach ever. Him and [former University of Alabama coach] Nick Saban. For college, Nick Saban. For Bill, the NFL. I might actually reach out to him to make sure everything’s good, but I am concerned from what I’m hearing. It’s not a good look, right, I’ll admit that.”
Corey Kent was recently doing an interview with Holler Country when he said he joined his first band when he was 11 years old. “When I was 11 I got the invitation to become the frontman for a western swing band, which is essentially like Dust Bowl era country music with some jazz thrown in. They chose me to be the frontman and lead singer, and I was interested because I found out that you could actually make money playing music. I said, “Sign me up for that job! I don’t know what kind of music this is, but put me on a stage, let me play and I’m happy!””
Drew Baldridge tells SongwriterUniverse.com that a Josh Turner concert convinced him to be a musician. “On my 18th birthday, my mom took me to Nashville and surprised me with tickets to see Josh Turner, who was my musical hero. I just realized that OK, if Josh Turner can do music, I’m going to do music. I gave up all my baseball scholarships, chances at basketball, moved to Nashville at 19 and dove into the honky tonks here and started playing. I think it was the best decision I ever made, I just love what I get to do every day.”
Tom Cruise tells People magazine that he plays the piano to relax and may one day show off his skills in a movie. “I wouldn’t say ‘play.’ I enjoy hitting the keys… I find it relaxing. I will learn a skill, and I know eventually I’m going to use it in a movie. Whether it’s the piano or having more time to dance. Or parachuting or flying airplanes or helicopters. The wonderful thing is you’re never there. It can always be better.”
Kelsea Ballerini tells People magazine that she once auditioned for a role on ‘The White Lotus.’ “I have no shame in my game. I auditioned for the second season of The White Lotus for the role [of] Jennifer Coolidge’s assistant that Haley did”
The ACM Awards keep adding more and more names to their performers list. The first round of singers announced were: Lainey Wilson . . . Eric Church . . . and Blake Shelton. Then they added Chris Stapleton . . . Miranda Lambert . . . Kelsea Ballerini . . . Alan Jackson . . . Brooks & Dunn . . . Cody Johnson . . . Rascal Flatts . . . Clint Black . . . Wynonna Judd . . . and LeAnn Rimes. But they weren’t done yet. Yesterday they just added Jelly Roll . . . Shaboozey . . . Megan Moroney . . . and the Backstreet Boys, too. And the show will apparently begin with a 12-minute medley of the “Songs of the Decades” . . . Which makes sense, since this is the 60th annual ACM Awards. It all takes place on Thursday, May 8th . . . and will be hosted by Reba McEntire.
