In rural parts of Vermont where cell service is spotty or nonexistent, one man is making a difference the old-fashioned way. Electrical engineer Patrick Schlott has taken it upon himself to restore vintage payphones and install them in remote areas where people might otherwise be cut off. Even more impressive—he covers the cost of the phone lines himself, making the calls completely free for anyone who needs to use them.
