Ella Langley Makes Billboard History With “Choosin’ Texas”

Taylor Swift is releasing a new song on Friday called “Patient Zero”.  She posted, quote, “I’ve been impatiently waiting to tell you.”  And her lucky fans get to buy it THREE TIMES, because she’s selling three different versions on CD on her website.  There’s a regular version, an acoustic version, and a piano version. As of last night, only the piano version was still available. There’s no word if this will be another country song. Meanwhile, a British soccer team announced that a male athlete named Taylor Swift is joining their team.  Unfortunately, he doesn’t wear the #13 jersey.  He’s #10.

Ella Langley has officially made Billboard history.  “Choosin’ Texas” is now the longest-leading #1 song on the Hot 100 with 23 weeks, passing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and songs by Harry Styles and Morgan Wallen. Langley co-wrote it with Miranda Lambert. Ella posted a video thanking fans.  Quote, “I’m genuinely trying to find the words to explain what’s going on in my brain today . . . Thank you so much.  It’s changing my life.  It’s changing the lives of the writers of this song. “It’s changing the lives of my family and it is truly growing an atmosphere for something I’m gonna be able to do the rest of my life and . . . today doesn’t feel like a real thing.”

In other news, Miranda Lambert is teasing a new song called “Snakeskin Boots” and fans think Ella could be on it.

Dolly Parton’s Estate fired her nephew Bryan Seaver, who was the head of her security.  He’s the same one who broke the news of her passing. The Estate was also granted a temporary restraining order against him. They allege that he threatened to smear her legacy and made violent threats toward her employees.  He also told Dolly’s entertainment attorney, quote, “I’m not an entertainment person.  I’m a killer.'” Bryan called himself an international arms dealer and mercenary.

JustJared says Dolly Parton traveled overseas for an experimental cancer treatment about a year before her passing.  The legendary country singer flew by private jet to Frankfurt, Germany, where she underwent the procedure. The exact nature of the treatment is not known. The treatment was effective and helped restore some of her strength. Dolly died at age 80.

Wendy’s, the fast-food chain, is releasing an emo album today.  They teased a graphic of their Wendy’s logo with side bangs swooping over one of her eyes. The 6-song track list includes “The Best Combo Meal on the Worst Night of My Life”, “She Said She Didn’t Want Fries (She Lied)” and “My Frosty’s Funeral”. It’s unclear if this is something that’ll hit Spotify or Apple Music, or if it’ll be sold on CD at your local Wendy’s.  One fan joked that we are getting a Wendy’s album before My Chemical Romance’s long-awaited fifth album.

n Touch Weekly says Bunnie XO recently showed fans her new Los Angeles home on TikTok. She described the unfinished mansion as “dark” and “moody,” with emerald green walls, a red-and-black tiger-striped rug, candlelit walls and a game room. The home also includes a parlor room, a glass wine cellar, a custom leopard-print pool table, a giant crystal chandelier, a portrait of Stevie Nicks and a movie room which will include a photo of Dolly Parton.

New Idea magazine says Keith Urban has sparked speculation about a new relationship after posting a cover of Bill Withers’ “Just the Two of Us.”  Followers questioned who he was singing to, but Urban has not been publicly linked to anyone new since his divorce from Nicole Kidman.  Kidman has allegedly issued a ban on Urban’s music at public events because some songs are too painful for her to hear. A source tells the website, “She doesn’t want to be out in front of the cameras when someone plays one of his songs especially one like Once In A Lifetime.”

“The Voice” host Carson Daly tells TV Shows Ace that he tried to stop Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton from dating. “I tried everything in my power to not let this thing happen. You both went through a crazy divorce publicly. Then we went to Gwen’s house once. I’ve known you for a long time and I love you. I was like, ‘You guys gotta stop this. This will never work.’ Then cut to years later, you called me in New York and said, ‘Would you marry me?’” Stefani and Shelton met as coaches on the show, later married, and remain married despite recurring rumors about their relationship.

Mandatory magazine says Tom Cruise and Taylor Swift recently drew attention after they were spotted together at a Kansas City Chiefs game. An anonymous source says Cruise’s friendship with Swift could benefit his career by putting him in front of younger moviegoers.  “Being in her orbit instantly puts Tom in front of a younger generation that knows his name but may not necessarily buy a ticket to his movies.”

The Daily Mail says “Bridesmaids” star Melissa McCarthy is set to star as JonBenet Ramsey’s mother, Patsy, in an upcoming Netflix series. Melissa tells Variety magazine that she is playing the part as if the Ramsey family is innocent in the JonBenet murder case. “Just my personal feeling. My heart says no one in the family could have done that. I don’t have the ability, or probably the right, to say that, but that’s what my gut says. Which I probably am not supposed to say. But shooting the series, I had to pick. I had to have that for myself, if nothing else.” Patsy died of ovarian cancer in 2006 with no one successfully charged or tried in court for the murder of her daughter.
