Dream Job Alert: “Jeopardy!” Needs a New Clue Writer
If you’ve ever yelled answers at your TV during game shows, then this job might be right for you. “Jeopardy!” is looking for a new clue writer . . . and the gig pays between $132,000 and $178,000 a year. But getting the job is going to be pretty tricky. First, you’ll have to pass the same tough online trivia test contestants take. Then you’ll have to write your own clues covering everything from history and science to pop culture. And then you’ll have to create Final Jeopardy questions and back up your research. The writing team is tiny, with only about 10 people . . . making this one of the rarest jobs in TV. Which means some super nerd is about to be the happiest person in America. (Here’s where you can apply.) (Maybe the next clue writer can make the questions a little bit easier? Those questions are impossible.)
Megan Moroney’s new dog is named Boots Withefer (pronounced “with the fur” like the line in the Flo Rida song, “Low”). She originally was deciding between Boots or Lorraine because her song “Waiting on the Rain” sounds like Lorraine. Quote, “When I saw that her back feet were white, like my cowgirl boots onstage, I was like, oh, she just looks like a Boots.” Megan also added that Boots shares a Megan trait. Quote, “She’s not very food motivated, but if you deprive her of any sort of love or attention, that’s how to get her to behave.”
Dolly Parton announced that “Dolly: A True Original Musical” will officially open on Broadway in New York City on her 81st birthday, which is January 19th. Previews will start in December. The musical premiered last summer in Nashville, and has since undergone changes. It tells Dolly’s story in her own words and songs. Dolly says, quote, “This isn’t about a story about sparkle and shine on the outside. It’s about where I really come from, what I’ve lived, what I’ve lost, what I’ve loved, and how I’ve found my way, and told it in my own words.” She also teased that she’s writing new songs for the musical. It’ll also include her hits like “I Will Always Love You”, “Jolene”, and “9 to 5”.
The Britney Spears memoir “The Woman in Me” is being turned into a biopic. Huey Lewis just turned 76 on Sunday and in a recent interview he shared a little more detail on how Ménière’s disease has ruined music for him. As we’d heard before, he’s been living with this for years. In a new interview on the “Inside of You” podcast, Huey said, quote, “At a certain point, you gotta face the music . . . I can’t hear music. Music is not part of my life anymore, which is a hard pill to swallow. “I can’t find pitch in the music. The technology that I use on my cochlear implant, it breaks everything down into digital bits. “The cochlear, which is my only reliable form of hearing, distorts the music a little bit, in the same way it distorts people’s voices. It makes pitch impossible to hear. I can hear conversation. But if I pull these things out, I’m deaf.” (People) (Huey added that his implant makes people sound like they took a hit of helium. And the interviewer’s voice sounded like Mickey Mouse to him.)

RadarOnline.com says Meghan Markle allegedly wanted a spiritual cleanser to purge her baby’s nursery of royal spirits. A source says, “Meghan has always been full of Hollywood-style superstitions about astrology, psychics and feng shui. So it’s no surprise she wanted a spiritualist to conduct a ‘cleanse’ after her feng shui specialist she consulted said it may be the best move to give her peace of mind. She didn’t like to think of it as an exorcism, though – more of a ‘spiritual cleanse’ of her home. The spiritualist she wanted to come would have consulted on whether there are any malevolent forces there that could spread bad ‘vibes’ and consulted on what Meghan could do to make the environment as peaceful and unfriendly-to-spirits as possible, which would have included measures like hanging up crosses and keeping doors and windows open as much as possible so spirits can flow freely through the house.”

John Stamos tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that he told Dancing With the Stars producers to stop asking him to join the show. “Stop! Don’t ever ask me again. I’m never going to do that show.
