Delta Employee Donates Kidney to Frequent Flyer — Honored for “Outstanding Customer Service”
Talk about going above and beyond. A Delta Airlines employee recently gave the gift of life to one of the airline’s frequent flyers — by donating one of her kidneys.
According to reports, flight attendant Jenny Duffy developed a friendship with passenger Bill Coston over years of flights together. When she learned that he was in desperate need of a kidney transplant, she offered to get tested — and turned out to be a perfect match.
The life-saving surgery took place in December. Both are recovering well, and their bond is stronger than ever.
Delta recently honored Duffy with one of its highest internal awards, recognizing her for extraordinary compassion and “truly outstanding customer service.”
As one Delta executive put it, “You can’t train someone to care this much.”
