Casting Call: The Hollywood ‘What-Ifs’

If you ever wondered how Kenny Chesney stays in such good shape, here he is to tell us about it… it’s because he practices singing while running on a treadmill

Ringo Starr is making his return to Country with his next album, “Look Up”.  It’s produced by T Bone Burnett and comes out January 10th.  He released the album’s first single, Time On My Hands.  Ringo’s first dabble in Country was with 1970’s “Beaucoups of Blues”.

You ever wonder how different your favorite movie would be if someone else had played the lead? Well, Hollywood is full of “what-ifs.” Like—get this—John Krasinski almost played Captain America before Chris Evans snagged the shield. Yup, Jim from The Office nearly became a superhero. Will Smith turned down the role of Neo in The Matrix, and instead we got Keanu Reeves dodging bullets in slow-mo. Even Reese Witherspoon almost played Cher, instead Alicia Silverstone, in Clueless! It just goes to show, timing—and maybe your agent—can totally change the course of Hollywood history.

I don’t know if you knew this, but Ryan Seacrest and his foundation have built actual STUDIOS inside 14 children’s hospitals . . . most recently in Salt Lake City. This provides an outlet for pediatric patients to learn new media, experiment with radio broadcasting, and just to have something to look forward to during their hospital stays. Ryan started out in radio when he was only 16 years old, so he really embraces the intimacy and unvarnished presentation of live radio.

Hayden Christensen took his share of abuse for how he portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the “Star Wars” prequels.  But he’s not done with the galaxy yet. After some de-aged cameos in Season 1, he’s back as Anakin in Season 2 of the Disney+ series “Ahsoka”.

Another ’90s classic is making a comeback . . . “Clueless”!!! Alicia Silverstone is returning as Cher for a sequel series on Peacock. The writer/director and producer of the 1995 original are set to executive produce alongside Alicia.
