Kenny Chesney and Megan Moroney Are Ready to Get Weird

Kenny Chesney is releasing an album on September 25th called "Silver Sands Marina".  It'll include a new duet with Megan Moroney that she actually helped make happen. (You can hear Kenny talk about Megan's involvement here.) The song is called "It Just Got Weird", and Kenny was holding onto it for about five years. Kenny knew she would attack the song the way he wanted it . . . he said sometimes when Megan sings, she sounds like she's been up all night in a great way. . . her voice is perfect for the emotion and the angst of this song.

Adam Sandler has a weird swimming habit . . . he wears socks in the pool. His 17-year-old daughter Sunny says he does this because he, quote, "can't bend to take them off on land . . . and then he'll drain them and then you play catch with them." Sunny also says that when she and sister Sadie were kids, they would pretend to be Adam and wear his clothes, quote, "before that was cool", and would jump in the pool with socks on. A source claims that Travis Kelce has been talking about making a country album for months.  They say when he sang a duet with Taylor Swift at their wedding was a test run. Another insider says that Taylor's friends in the music industry think he's underestimating how tough country music really is.  Quote, "Celebrity might get you through the front door, but it won't keep you on the charts . . ."You still have to earn the respect of Nashville.  With Taylor in his corner, Travis believes the sky's the limit.  Now it's Nashville's turn to decide if it's ready for football's next act."

HBO is headed out on the road to Stars Hollow to film a "Gilmore Girls" documentary. Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and star Lauren Graham are among those taking part in the film. Sherman-Palladino and Graham are also collaborating on a book about the making of Gilmore Girls, which is due for publication in fall 2027.

Entertainment Now says Luke Bryan has postponed shows in the Northwest  because wildfire smoke worsened his asthma. Two Washington state shows have been moved to the Fall. Bryan posted a video and said, "I have asthma, and a lot of people don’t really know that. Sometimes it gets the best of me, and it did last night.”

Mel Gibson tells World of Reel that Lethal Weapon 5 may happen after Paramount's take over of Warner Bros. "I finished the script, and we were going to go into production, but it just never got the wheels under it. I think Warner’s got into some quicksand at that time… so it got buried somewhere, and now I think this David Ellison guy over at Paramount has absorbed or will absorb Warners, or it looks like he will. And maybe, maybe they’ll take the chains off that one, and you might see that in another year or so."

The Blast says Anne Hathaway recently faced online criticism about her baby bump.   The trolls came after photos from the premiere of ‘’The End Of Oak Street’’ circulated online.  Some said Anne’s baby bump was fake. The 43-year-old actress posted four playful words on Instagram: "Fake hair, real bump."

Ella Langley tells People magazine that she is excited about settling down some day. "I think my whole life I've really dedicated it to this craft and doing this job. And now that I'm up here and experiencing this, I'm also excited about settling down one day and pursuing the human version of my life."

Ben "Cooter" Jones from "The Dukes of Hazzard" died of a heart attack yesterday, at the age of 84.  Did you know he also served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives?

Vogue magazine says clothes and accessories from The Devil Wears Prada 2 are being auctioned off. The live sale on September 10th will feature a tassel jacket worn by Meryl Streep’s character and a Gabriela Hearst dress worn by Anne Hathaway.  Proceeds benefit charity.

The Daily Beast says Tom Holland tried a dehydration trick for his shirtless scene in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. He did not drink water the day before the scene and then drank a lot the day before that.  Tom says, "I tried to see if it would make a difference, and the only thing it did is it just made me really grumpy. I don't think it really made that much of a difference.’’

Whiskey Riff says Luke Combs, Ella Langley, Red Clay Strays and more are on the Madden 27 video game soundtrack.  Madden 27 comes out on August 13th. The track listing says Luke Combs’ ‘’My Kinda Saturday Night’’ and Ella Langley’s ‘’Dandelion’’ are included.

Variety magazine says Lionsgate plans to start filming ‘’Michael 2’’ in late 2026 or early 2027. The studio hopes to release the film by the end of 2027 or the first half of 2028.  The first film, ‘’Michael’’, earned about $1 billion worldwide.

Nerdist says Warner Bros. has confirmed a new Matrix movie is in the works. Keanu Reeves could return as Neo if asked.

The Rock Is Singing a New Tune

Phoebe Gates, the 23-year-old daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates, has an e-commerce startup called Phia, and she's often insisted that she'd make it work without any privilege or nepotism. But she never promised not to cut corners . . . and now she could wind up in PRISON because of it. Phoebe and her business partner Sophia Kianni have apparently been caught admitting to "cookie stuffing" . . . which basically means they've been crediting Phia with sales that it didn't drive, and collecting commissions for them. It sounds pretty serious.  A corporate attorney commenting on the allegations said that cookie stuffing is, quote, "typically treated as federal wire fraud in U.S. courts." He claims Gates could be facing, quote, "a max penalty of up to 20 years in prison plus fines and restitution." For its part, Phia is blaming "technical anomalies," and claims it fixed the "problem" as soon as it was made aware of it.  No legal action has been brought yet.

The Rock is ready to explore a music career.  He just released a ballad called "Your Dad" dedicated to his three daughters. He co-wrote it with 2023 "American Idol" winner Iam Tongi for a "Moana" companion album called "Moana: Voices Across the Ocean". The Rock says music has always been a part of his life.  Quote, "I always like to say I sing from the heart and I sing in keys that don't exist.  So it's a good combo." He wants to make "old-school soul" music with country flavor.  Quote, "At a very early age, my deep influences were Sam Cooke, Elvis, George Jones, Merle Haggard, even Johnny Paycheck . . . "Also Willie Nelson, who, as a matter of fact, gave me my first guitar.  You know the Trigger guitar he has?  The historic one?  I guess Martin only made 100 of those, and as a birthday gift, 'cause I was such a huge fan, he gave me one." Courthouse News says a judge in Los Angeles recently cleared Kenny Chesney from any wrongdoing in a scam case. An unidentified woman gave $300,000 to a person who was impersonating Kenny online. The woman sued Kenny after she realized she had been scammed.  She said he was responsible for protecting her against impersonators.

Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation teamed up with Tractor Supply and donated $255,000 to animal shelters all over the country.  The program is called Mutts Across America. One shelter in every state was chosen, plus one "Wildcard" pick, in recognition of her album of the same name.  They each received a $5,000 grant, and didn't find out about it until it was announced. In other Miranda news, she surprised fans at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota by bringing out Gretchen Wilson and Lainey Wilson for a few songs like "Redneck Woman" and "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)".

Super Bowl 61 is set for February 14th at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.  It's the first time the game will be hosted by ESPN, and it'll also air on ABC. Disney reported yesterday that all of their ad spots are already SOLD OUT.  58 brands in 34 different categories bought spots, with nine first-time advertisers. 30-second spots were allegedly sold for $8 million to $9 million, but one report claims that Disney was seeking as much as $10 million. The early sellout is notable because NBC sold out of their Super Bowl ads last September, and when Fox had the broadcast the year before, they didn't sell out their ads until the November before the game.

Brad Pitt tells Page Six that he’s no longer sober after seven years. "I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon. In a more restrained manner, I got overconfident a couple times, went, Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities. I have to be professional about it. I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privilege."

The Blast says Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston allegedly have a secret standing lunch date. The meetings happened on the set of ‘’The Morning Show.‘’ Pitt goes straight to Aniston’s trailer for a private lunch and then leaves when filming resumes.

Speaking to reporters at Chiefs training camp, Travis Kelce said his wedding night was, quote, "the best night of my life."  He added that it was a "childhood dream" to be in Madison Square Garden.  He didn't get to go there for a Knicks playoff game because of training camp.  Taylor very famously did, though. Quote, "I thanked the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to [get married there], knowing that we wanted a private event, and it was perfect." Taylor and Travis got married on July 3rd, in a ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler.  It was attended by just about every celebrity you can name . . . except Blake Lively. (Here's video.  Travis shows up at 4:42.)

Female First says Chris Pratt is trying to sell his Pacific Palisades mansion. He and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger first listed their home for $32 million in July 2023.  The price was cut to $29.9 million. It has been re-listed again for $19.99 million.  The 13,000 sq foot home has six bedroom suites.

The Daily Mail says "Mary Poppins" star Julie Andrews has officially announced her retirement from acting at age 90. She confirmed that she will not be returning to her role of Queen Renaldi in "The Princess Diaries 3." Julie tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I think I'm retired, really, would be about the best description for that. [The film's creative team] asked me all last year if I would be keen to do it. It was very very hard to say no, but I did because I thought I had a wonderful ride, and this one I felt would flourish very well and wouldn't need Granny going in there at my age."

Travis Kelce tells the NY Post that his wedding night at Madison Square Garden was the best night of his life. "Wedding was the best night of my life. That's about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration. So it's kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the Mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there. I can't thank the owners of MSG enough for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing we wanted a private event. And the AC was cooking. That was the best part."

Country Now says Jason Aldean's wife Brittany recently broke down in tears after taking her children back to school. She posted a picture along with the caption; “Tears were flowing this morning. Can’t believe we have a 2nd and 3rd grader.”

Ewan McGregor tells E! News that he wants to play Obi-Wan again. The actor says the ball is in Disney's court regarding his future in the Star Wars saga. He says he is ready for more and would take a new story in a movie or a series. “The next time we find Obi-Wan Kenobi, he’s Alec Guinness up in the mountains. What happens between those two moments is what I want to do and spend the rest of my career doing these stories. Stories, you know, series or movies. We’ve got plenty of time; I’ve got 10 years before I am Alec Guinesses’ age. So come on, Disney!”

Collider magazine says the search for the next James Bond is in the final rounds of auditions. Amazon is working on the film and wants a young actor. They want someone young enough to carry the franchise for 'three or four movies'.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan tells Mandatory magazine that he still gets hate for Negan’s killing of Glenn on “The Walking Dead”. "Oh, I get people all the time that are just furious with the fact that I killed Glenn. He was so loved, and I never understood how they didn't know it was going to happen."  Morgan says an elderly woman once slapped him while he was out for coffee

Ella Langley tells Billboard magazine that she has several current goals on her career bucket list. "Saturday Night Live -  to be a musical guest and then one day, maybe host. Sell out stadiums, that's always been my goal. I want to start acting in the next year. I like thrillers but also love comedy. I'm not a big romantic movie lady, so probably something funnier or a little more intense."

Stella Lefty is set to take the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time on September 2nd. She says the Opry debut is a dream come true. Her hit ‘’Boston’’ is in the Top 5 and her debut album Long Way Home is due out August 21st.

A new parent survey says Barbie is the favorite character of girls ages 3 to 8.  Spider-Man is the favorite for boys in that age range. recent poll

The News International says Keith Urban allegedly doesn't care that he and Nicole Kidman are no  longer together. A source says, "Keith's been unhappy for a long time. He didn't want to be on another red carpet or have a staff full of people and be forced to wear designer [clothes]. He doesn't care about any of that. That's not who he is, and he's been dealing with it for a long time. He just wants to make music and play music. The rest was all very complicated and outside of his comfort zone."

Holler Country says Riley Green recently bought a guitar from a stranger on Facebook Marketplace. The seller, who works for Front Beach Softwash in Panama City, Florida, posted the listing. They met at the agreed spot. Green walked away with the guitar.  The seller said, "When I seen that he was the one buying it, it made selling it feel a little better. There will be another J-45 in this guy's future. Thanks, Duckman!"

IGN News says Tom Holland’s brutal Spider-Man workout recently went viral. Fans are now trying it. The routine is five pull-ups, ten push-ups, and fifteen squats as many times as you can in 20 minutes.

Geo TV says Jason Sudeikis recently attended the Mumford & Sons concert at Madison Square Garden dressed as Ted Lasso. The band performed the Ted Lasso theme song. The crowd went wild.

Naughty But Nice says Brad Pitt revealed in a recent Esquire interview that he has started drinking again after seven years of sobriety.  Bradley Cooper who helped Brad stay sober is worried but not judging. A source says, “Bradley knows how difficult sobriety is, and he knows this isn’t black and white. He loves Brad. He is never going to lecture him or tell him how to live his life. There is no judgment — only concern. Bradley knows how quickly drinking can become complicated, and he wants Brad to be honest with himself.”

Riley Green is just like us . . . he shops on Facebook Marketplace, too.  He bought a Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar from someone, and even met up with the seller in person.  There's no word how much he paid. The seller posted a photo with Riley and said, quote, "When I [saw] that he was the one buying it, well it made selling it feel a little better!  I hope to see him throwing them pic marks on her soon . . .Thanks Duckman!"

Garth Brooks announced that the fourth city on his upcoming arena tour is Washington D.C.  He'll be at the Capital One Arena on September 18th and 19th.  Tickets go on sale Friday the 21st. Based on the trend with previous cities, it wouldn't be surprising if two additional shows are added in D.C.

Sam Elliott Makes a Surprise Appearance on Shaboozey's New Album

Country Living says Landman star Sam Elliott is featured on Shaboozey's new Western album.  Shaboozey released “The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales” last Friday.  Elliott is on track 14 which is titled "Don't Count Down (With Sam Elliott)". The song opens with heavy footsteps and a Western showdown vibe. Fans are calling it a masterpiece and praised its storytelling. Listen to "Don't Count Down" on Spotify

Miranda Lambert's next album, "Crisco", comes out October 2nd.  She's announced that she'll have an album release show a few days later on October 6th at the world's largest honkey tonk, Billy Bob's Texas. Quote, "When I was in the studio recording 'Crisco', I kept picturing the rhinestone saddle at Billy Bob's.  It's the perfect visual for a country disco album: honky tonk with some extra rhinestones and shine. "I've played some of my all-time favorite shows at Billy Bob's and it felt like the best place to bring everyone together to have fun and live out the feeling of this album." Tickets go on sale Friday.

ABC says a Whitney Houston Barbie doll was recently unveiled in Atlanta. The doll shows the New Jersey native in the purple tank dress from her ‘’I Wanna Dance With Somebody’’ video. It comes with bright makeup, colorful drop earrings, and a microphone stand. The doll will cost $59.

Two showbiz deaths to report this morning:  Tedde Moore, who played Ralphie's teacher in "A Christmas Story", and Reggie Bannister, who played "Reggie" in the "Phantasm" movies.

Carrie Underwood joined the worship team on Sunday at Rolling Hills Community Church in Tennessee.  She performed Hillsong Worship's "What a Beautiful Name". She's known to get behind the mic on occasion, like earlier this year on Easter and during the holidays. (You can watch the performance here.)

If you think you're too old to get down at the club, Mick Jagger is here to prove you WRONG.  He turned 83 last month, and is still out having fun. Mick posted a video of himself dancing under a disco ball at a club to his song "Mr. Charm".  It's from the latest Rolling Stones album, "Foreign Tongues".

A "Star Wars" fan in the U.K. spent $12,000 to build a spaceship BAR in his backyard.  He says people were a little cautious when he announced his plans, but now everybody loves it. He says when he first started telling family, friends, and neighbors about his idea for a spaceship bar, they were worried it would be overbearing.  But now that it's built, quote, "everyone absolutely loves it."  (Check out some pics.)

Minnie Driver tells Page Six that she is grateful to be alive after a near-fatal car crash. "I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben and we somehow walked out of it. Well we didn’t walk out of it. We crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive. I’ve got a sprained neck. I’m really in a sort of shock and cry all the time but I’m gonna heal. The reason that I’m not dead honestly is the car that we were driving. The fact that the entire car didn’t just crush us is down to the design of that car which is frankly astonishing. I need to celebrate the car that saved us because we’ve got families and people who love us. So, Kia, you are a baller car company. You’re amazing. And thanks very much.”

Ella Langley tells Holler Country that several country music stars saved her life last year. “I've always struggled with my mental health, it's just always been a part of who I am and I think it's part of why I do what I do. But with this job, I knew that would be the thing I kind of struggle with the most. Having Miranda there and Lainey and a lot of other women, Gretchen Wilson, Jo Dee Messina, who were just constantly there for me...There's not a rule-book to this job, and there's really only people's stories to get you through. Like, ‘Oh this is normal? I should feel this insane?’ And I think just having somebody else say like, ‘Yeah, that's 100% how I felt, this is how it feels, and it's okay to feel like you're head is spinning off a rocker every day because that's just the journey you're on right now, and one day it'll slow down’...Yeah, having that saved me, saved my life last year.”

Country Rebel says Luke Bryan was recently performing in concert when his dog made a beer delivery. The crowd laughed as the pup trotted across the stage.

Deadline Hollywood says a Joe Dirt sequel is in development at Fox as an animated series. David Spade will voice the title character and serve as an executive producer. The project comes 25 years after the original film.

ABC says a Vatican City event recently brought The Pope and Matthew McConaughey.  McConaughey attended with his wife Camila Alves. The Pope greeted them warmly and chatted briefly

Power Cable Re-Routed to Save Harry Potter's Dobby Memorial

An undersea power cable that's being built between Ireland and the U.K. was diverted by MAGIC.  The magic of "Harry Potter" fandom, that is. Construction of the cable would have upended Freshwater West, a beach on the coast of Wales. But that's where they filmed the death and burial of Dobby the House Elf in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" . . . and there's a memorial to Dobby on the site that's visited by people from around the world. After receiving hundreds of protest calls, the power company did some re-routing and saved Dobby's grave.  But in doing so, they had to build it much closer to actual sacred remains from the Bronze Age.

Jon Hamm and his wife Anna Osceola are expecting their first child. The couple tied the knot in Big Sur, California in June 2023. He is 55.  Jon said he was in an “exciting part of life” characterized by “stability and comfort.”

At no surprise, Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" is ranked as the Top Country Song of 2026 so far by TasteofCountry.com.  Ella's other hit, "Be Her", follows at #2, and "Be by You" by Luke Combs in third.

Simon Cowell is allegedly being sued over a $100 million deal said to be written on a napkin.  A former business adviser,  named Ian Rosenblatt,  says Cowell offered the napkin deal.  Court papers say the napkin note was signed by Cowell…written on a napkin which Mr Cowell then signed.

AceShowbiz says “Highlander” star Christopher Lambert collapsed during a fan meet-and-greet at Steel City Con this past weekend.  He was rushed to the hospital after the collapse. Lambert's reps said the incident was due to a drop in blood sugar caused by not eating and insufficient sleep.  His team later said he was "perfectly OK" after medical checks.

Zach Top tells Whiskey Riff that he and Red Clay Strays frontman Brandon Coleman have been talking about writing and recording together “Any time we’re around each other, we love singing together. He’s one of my favorite singers in the world. So we keep on talking every time we see each other. It’s like, ‘Man, we gotta write something some time and record something together.”

Riley Green tells CBS that he enjoys hunting and fishing even more now because it helps him disconnect from his career.“I think I enjoy it more because I can get away from everybody and really disconnect.”

Nate Smith tells People his weight loss was motivated by needing more energy on stage when touring. “Keeping the energy on stage and making sure I do that, because I think that takes care of the fans. I just feel better. It’s nice to be able to wear clothes that I like. I’ve been double X for the last five or six years, so I’m feeling really good. I used to be totally out of breath tying my shoes. I can jump around a lot more.”

Megan Moroney tells The Hollywood Reporter that she gets anxious without her bodyguard.  “Honestly, the only time I’m truly anxious is if I am somewhere without my security guard, because then it becomes a safety thing. I want to assume people are nice, but when I’m approached and don’t have someone with me, that’s been starting to freak me out, for whatever reason.”

The Daily Mail says Sharon Osbourne recently surprised pub-goers by pouring a pint and downing a beer during a shift at Merlins Cafe Bar in Ozzy Osbourne's hometown of Birmingham, England. Sharon enjoyed Hobsons Brewery’s Patient Number 9 beer. The beer was released on July 22nd to mark Ozzy Osbourne Day.

Radar Online says Keith Urban has finally accepted his relationship with Nicole Kidman is over. A source says, "He knows this gravy train is coming to an end. He rode the Nicole Kidman train for a long time. He wouldn't have been invited to the Oscars, the Golden Globes, or the big parties she gets invited to. Even after the divorce, as long as she was still single, they were connected. He still had the Nicole story to tell. If she moves on, it's the end of that chapter. I think he's terrified it's over.”
