Legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele passed away yesterday. They were found dead in their home in Los Angeles in an apparent homicide. Rob was 78 and his wife was 70. Rob and his wife reportedly suffered quote, “lacerations consistent with a knife.” This is an ongoing investigation. Sources say they were murdered by their 32-year-old son Nick. Rob and Michele also share another son, Jake, and a daughter, Romy. And Rob also has an adopted daughter, Tracy, from his first marriage to Penny Marshall. Rob was born in 1947 to Estelle and Carl Reiner. He began his career as Steve Martin’s writing partner on “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” in 1968. They were the youngest on the staff. Two years later, he joined “All in the Family” as Archie Bunker’s liberal son-in-law Michael “Meathead” Stivic. His directorial debut was “This Is Spinal Tap” in 1984, which kicked off his legendary career. Dick Van Dyke celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday, and his wife Arlene Silver says he had a great time. They had a party at their Malibu home attended by friends and family, and Arlene led a surprise flash mob that danced to a medley of Dick’s songs. She says, quote, “It went so perfect, just everything. And he was so happy. His face, I love to make him have that face.” Prior to the actual date, Dick told “People” magazine, quote, “I feel really good for 100. Sometimes I have more energy than others, but I never wake up in a bad mood.”
Lainey Wilson is heading to Monday Night Football. She’s set to appear tonight on the Manningcast when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Miami Dolphins. The Manningcast has a soft spot for country music. Earlier this season, Luke Combs was on the show. And Lainey already has history with Peyton. She co-hosted the CMA Awards with him and Luke Bryan last year. Of course, Lainey is engaged to former Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges . . . who everyone lovingly calls “Duck”.
