  • Barbara Streisand is going to perform on the Oscars for the first time in 36 years.
  • Beyonce opened her Super Bowl press conference with a two-minute live rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner," followed by an admission that she did indeed use a pre-recorded track while singing the anthem at President Obama's inauguration. She said she is a perfectionist and didn't have time to rehearse with the orchestra for a live broadcast.
  • Warner Bros. confirmed Wednesday that a film version of the HBO series "Entourage" is in the works.
  • Lindsay Lohan has a new step-brother. Her dad and his girlfriend became the parents of a baby boy this past week.
  • Whoops! Lindsay Lohan and her mother, Dina, were turned away from two California hotels on Wednesday, one day before the actress' was due in court.
  • Rihanna says that she and Chris Brown are dating again and that it is "her mistake to make."
  • Ronaiah Tuiasosopo from California told Dr. Phil that he created the hoax in which former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o fell for a fake, online girlfriend because he was in love with the football player.
  • According to Cosmopolitan, 55% of men admit to saying I love you simply to have sex, and 35% of guys admit that they still flirt with at least one of their ex's.
  • Now Selena Gomez says that her new song, "Sad, Sad, Seranade" is about her breakup with Justin Bieber.
  • Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves have welcomed another son to their family, their 3rd. Livingston Alves McConaughey.
  • Kelly Clarkson was the American Idol who made the most money in 2012: $8 million.
  • Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz will host SNL for the first time on February 16.
  • As of 30 days into the New Year, 42 people had been shot and killed in Chicago. Something very wrong there.
  • MAN FINDS VALUABLE WHALE VOMIT _ A British man who was walking his dog on the beach discovered a lump of whale vomit worth nearly $160,000. Ken Wilman said, "It smelled horrible. I left it, came back home and looked it up on the Internet. When I saw how much it could be worth, I went back and grabbed it." Whale vomit is used in the manufacture of perfume. 
  • IT'S A REAL PRODUCT _ Toothpaste for bacon lovers.
  • WHO CALLS THE SHOTS? _ Think back to your last car purchase... if you made it with your spouse, who really made the final decision? If you ask him, it was him. Unless you ask her, then it was her. A new survey found 72% of men believing they were the ones with the most influence while 60% of women believe they had the most say.
  • AVOCADO ASSAULT _ A Brooklyn, New York, man was arrested for allegedly throwing an avocado that hit a grocery store worker in the face.
  • BEYONCE ENDS HER LIP-SYNCING CONTROVERSY _ In New Orleans, Beyonce opened Thursday's press conference about the Super Bowl halftime show with a performance of the national anthem and finished by asking, "Any questions?" Despite the a cappella opening, media asked Beyonce to answer whether any sound came out of her mouth during her inauguration performance earlier this month. "Typically, they have you sing a pre-recorded track, so I did sing along with the pre-recorded track," she said, noting that she didn't have time to practice with the U.S. Marine Band. 
  • SUPER BOWL MOVIE ADS _ Super Bowl Sunday is fast approaching and that means new movie trailers. Word is there will be six this year: our first look at Fast and Furious 6, new ones for Star Trek Into Darkness and World War Z, and three from Disney: Iron Man 3, The Lone Ranger, and Oz The Great And Powerful.
  • DON'T CALL IT THE SUPER BOWL! _ Samsung's "Big Game" commercial.
  • Former running back Marshall Faulk says that the New England Patriots cheated in order to defeat the St. Louis Rams in the 2002 Super Bowl. [He says he had never seen that much cheating. Heck, Dan Marino's wife has never seen that much cheating.]
  • After a Big Game the manufacturers and retailers will have on stock two sets of t-shirts, hats and other merchandise, declaring each team the champ. The gear is donated to a group called World Vision. The international humanitarian aid group collects the unwanted items and ships it overseas to people living in disaster areas and impoverished nations.
  • The Doritos-Taco Bell public love affair just keeps going.  Earlier this week, Taco Bell announced it's going to start selling Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos.  And now, Doritos has announced they're going to sell a new line of chips that taste like nacho cheese and Taco Bell tacos.  Both are coming soon. 
  • Is this a sign we now rely on our electronics WAY MORE than we rely on our cars?  In a new survey, women say they prefer a guy who has TECH SKILLS over a guy who has CAR REPAIR skills.
